Default Just Tell me That You Want Me tribute album- yay or nay?

I looked but didn't see a thread about this album, from 2014, I think. I liked it overall, but was shocked at how many songs were devoted to Stevie Nicks- 10 of her songs, 2 of Lindsay's, and 1 of Christine's! Still, her songs do tend to be splashier, for lack of a better word. My personal favorites were Albatross by the Lee Ranaldo Band with Masic, Think About Me by the New Pornographers, Silver Springs by Lykke Li, Straight Back by Washed Out, and Gypsy by Gardens and Villa.

Does anyone know how the songs were chosen? I assume the artists were able to choose the song they wanted to sing, unless their selection was already taken and they had to pick another one. I guess I thought more artists would have been inspired by Lindsay.

Thumbs up

I really love the album. It turned me on to Gardens & Villa, and now I listen to them pretty much daily on Spotify. I so loved hearing Marianne Faithfull tackle Angel, too. That's one of the several songs on the album that I like better than the original.

Yay. Very cool album. And an impressive list of alternative artists paying tribute.

Overall its an interesting collection. I find most of the songs really grate on me after just a couple of listens though. Some efforts are much better than others.

I like it. Gypsy and Straight back are stand outs for me.
