Stevie's Stinkers...
Probably not a great title. Oh well.
I'm a dedicated fan and like her songs very much, just not every single one she has made. This might be (I think) a fun topic to discuss. These are some of her tunes I can do without: 1. Talk To Me 2. Desert Angel 3. Sometimes It's a Bitch 4. Whole Lotta Trouble 5. I Can't Wait 6. Love's A Hard Game To Play 7. I Will Run To You There are a few more but I can't remember which ones right now.

Besides Talk to Me (which is not really a Stevie song), your list would be in my favorite section Here is mine: Everyday Affairs of the heart Welcome to the room Sara That made me stronger Second Time Around

I like Welcome to the Room Sara. But the rest of your list, yeah, those songs pretty much stink.

"If Anyone Falls"
"I Can't Wait" "Sister Honey" "Some Become Strangers" "Talk To Me" "The Nightmare" "Welcome to the Room ... Sara" "Long Way To Go" is borderline "Two Kinds of Love" "Ooh My Love" "Whole Lotta Trouble" "Alice" "Unconditional Love" "Jane" "One More Big Time Rock and Roll Star" "Every Day" "That Made Me Stronger" "Love Is" "Say You Will" "New Orleans" "Cheaper Than Free" There's some others I don't care for (the "Wild Heart"/"Sweet Girl"/"Secret Love" level) or some that I kind of enjoy but think have real weaknesses ("Nothing Ever Changes"/"Street Angel"/"Silver Girl" and so on), but maybe I wouldn't call those stinky. I know that's a lot. |

I rank as stinkers her aimless trying-to-be-a-rocker stuff with honky-tonk overtones influenced by Tom Petty. I Need to Know, Blue Lamp, Enchanted, Gold and Braid, One More Bigtime R&R Star, Violet and Blue. I also categorize as stinkers badly produced corpse-through-the-underbrush stuff like Rose Garden, Highwayman, and FWIW.

OK kill me guys.
I usually dont fuss about bad Stevie tunes but I have to add" You Can't Fix This" with Dave G. The lyrics are great but I could do without the rock guitar in it.So a 50/50 vote goes out on this tune. I never was a heavy guitar rock fan and I can tolerate Lindsey's and Waddy's playing with the bands.

I like half of The Wild Heart but the other half is too 80's for me. Probably because I grew up in the 90's. But I do like the title track in that famous youtube demo style. And I didn't quite put it on my stinky list so there's that

Of her output from the '80s, the only album I do not care for is TOSOTM. Never liked anything on it.

It is pretty boring, it sounds like she's trying to blend in with everything else on the radio, maybe more than any other album. But I genuinely like "Doing the Best That I Can," it gives me some chills.

Somebody Stand By Me has really grown on me of late. On pitch, On Key. Vibratto. Range. Belting. Emotion missing up till then in all her previous 90s recordings. It is a great vocal for her. Her voice between that song and up till TISL was so good. Twisted was just so so but her quitting smoking in 96 really made a huge difference that would be heard on the Dance and TISL. Her starting up again after TISL plus "The Change of Life" started a deterioration right around SYL. Anyhow, Somebody Stand By Me almost sounded like her early 80s voice that was almost 90% back for The Enchanted Tour. Some of those Enchanted Tour bootlegs I sometimes confuse with the White Wing Dove tour!
