Design Crush: Kristen Buckingham

Ok, so I’ve been a totally horrible blogger this week. I was so overwhelmed with my to-do lists and high-gloss trim paint that I wasn’t able to coordinate an IN HER SHOES feature for this week.
I blame the paint fumes even though I just started painting yesterday. Ah! Well this morning I was completely stressed over what to write about today. Normally I have things planned in advance, but today I was on empty.

A quick trip to one of my favorite blogs and I was back in business. Jennifer posted an image that I had posted earlier in the week and due to her comments I was able to find out who’s work it was!

Enter Kristen Buckingham my new design crush and someone I would love to feature in the IN HER SHOES series.

She’s married to a rocker. Hubby is Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac. So she already cool in my eyes and not only does interior design work, but creates custom furniture as well.
I’m so sold. Where do I sign up to be her new BFF.
I love the way she is able to mesh boho chic elements with traditional and modern elements. The match is perfection.

All of her work comes off seamless with the mixing of pattern, textures and styles that some might be scared to try.

Her work is the exact definition of what eclectic means in my mind and she does it just right.

I’m off to order some fabric samples and work on 3 room designs! Yay for friday it couldn’t get here early enough this week.

I'm on my phone and its one thirty in the morning so the image is either distorted or I'm hallucinating from sleep deprivation--

Is that a PAINTING of Stephanie Lynn (or is it one L? I'd know this in the daytime...) Nicks? Displayed my Mrs. K Buckingham in one of her interior design example shots?

If so, my week has been made. I think thats funny as hell.

The 2nd to last picture (with the couch) is Lindsey and Kristin's own house, right?
What is with the Stevie painting at the bottom? Are you kidding me?

Photoshop aside, I am not a fan at all. There's so much happening in all of those rooms and none of it is intriguing. I go for either a sleek, spacious, and classy look or a dose of full out drama (but even with drama, I want it to be focused around a few key pieces and colors.)

That's just Stevie's head put on another body.

As for Mrs. Buckingham's design skills...meh nothing very special. But if it keeps her busy while Lindsey is on tour than that's good.

I second that.You could do that kind of decor on a dime.All you have to do is pick up stuff from yard sales and 2nd-hand shops,slap em together and voila! Mrs. Buckingham's designer home decor DIY for just under $100 compared to $$$$$$$$$$$.It's too confusing and all over the place,but that's just my opinion.Really, who would pay for their house to look like all that stuff has been collected over the years and bought on a budget? All you have to do is never throw anything out lol.If people like it,then good for her.I commend her for being artistic and keeping herself busy though.

I agree with the majority it just looks like too much is going on in most of those rooms some people might like that kind of style though.
