In the Meantime... Chart Position?
Does anyone know how well ITM fared on the charts during its first week of release in the States? I sincerely hope she at least made it onto the Top 200 somewhere.

Hopefully I will be proved wrong. It would be nice to see a well produced, well written, well performed, well crafted album make an impression on the charts and show up all those god awful boy and girl bands where the ability to dance and lip sync is valued more than the ability to write, play and sing. I have to agree with Ms Nicks on this "they should learn to write some decent songs and wear more clothes" Gail |

Looks like she didn't make the Top 200, but she did debut at #32 on the Independent Albums chart. This is from the newest edition of Billboard, which hits stands tomorrow.
I'm kinda surprised; I thought she'd turn up for at least a week or two on the Top 200. |

Let's face it, she isn't one of those no-talent bimbos who diverts attention away from the lack of singing ability by touring and doing soft porn shows for 10 year olds. She keeps her clothes on and has class class CLASS!
This wonderful album may not chart, which would be icing on the cake but as Chris has already said she didn't expect it to do well and I don't think she is that concerned. No tour with simulated sex, no video with sex these days mean no album sales. All that said the album DID do brisk sales on amazon.com. I kept my eyeball on it and the first week it stayed in the top 50. |

If Say You Will was number three on the top two-hundred its first week and TISL made it somewhere in the top ten its first week then you would think Christine's new album would have at least made it on the list. That is really strange. How could the new Fleetwood Mac record have practically been number one but Christine wasn't even number two-hundred???!!!
I think not enough people knew about this album- I don't know this just seems odd to me.

Yes you are correct. There's virtually no promotion and no tour. For SYW and TISL there was huge promotion. Plus FM and SNicks are big names. Christine is a smaller player. Doesn't like or want limelight, no tour not much publicity. It will sell over time, but nothing blockbuster, very low key.

In the Meantime was at one time up to 25 in the Amazon.co.uk chart but I think that was the die hard fans buying it (here and in the US)
After that without much publicity other than a few magazine interviews nobody would even know she had an album out. Perhaps with a bit more radio play sales might improve. Gail |

But yes, I think we can all agree that it is a sad state of affairs with Christine's new album. You don't really have to sell that many albums- perhaps 2500 or so - to chart on the Billboard Top 200, so this is already pretty much a commercial flop. With all of the millions of people who saw FM on tour over the past couple of years, you would think that at least a tiny percentage would have been interested in a solo Christine album! |

Why single Stevie out? Why not blame Mick, or even Lindsey? It would have been refreshing if Lindsey did say something different at at least one concert!

Because David knows there ain't a chance in hell LB would say anything about Christine's album. **** he's still getting over Bella Donna!
