I've begun to really like them now, mostly because of their association with Stevie. I never gave them any attention before. They are very talented, and groups with men and women in them are interesting to me. But I have yet to make any commitment to buy any of their albums.

Antimusic, October 3, 2014

http://www.antimusic.com/news/14/Oct...ch_Chain.shtml

(hennemusic) Stevie Nicks is streaming "Watch Chain", a new tune featured on her upcoming solo album, "24 Karat Gold - Songs From the Vault." Nicks explains the tune is a tribute to drummer Mick Fleetwood.

"Lindsey [Buckingham] and I are American kids - California kids," says Nicks. "We didn't know anything about style. We were hippie kids, so Mick was like Mr. Style and when he came into our lives, everybody had to up our style a little bit."

"'Watch Chain' really started out as a metaphor to Mick and that whole kind of English thing with the little tiny, slightly backed shoulders and the nipped-in waist," she continues. "It was a good look, and it was a good look for women too - all the girls in my life, we all thought, 'Oh, we want to look like Mick, for sure.' So we all tried to get the same kind of jeans and little vests and silk shirts."

Due October 7th, "24 Karat Gold - Songs From the Vault" features a collection of lost and stray songs that Nicks has written and recorded through the years, but never made it onto an album.

So, Stevie and all her girlfriends wanted to look like a very tall man? I think Mick looked/looks great too, but I have this horrible image of Lori and Stevie gluing beard hair on each other.

I know, that was kind of hilarious.

Wow! That one tore at my heart. The song kind of takes on a new meaning now.

I was wondering if we were going to get anymore of these "commentaries". where did you find this one?

So now we still need commentaries for

"Starshine"
"If You Were My Love"
"Twisted"
"Blue Water"
"Cathouse"
"She Still Loves Him"

I hope we get all of them, eventually.

The commentary for "24KG" (the song) is kinda lame.

"It's about Mick and he loves that!" is basically all she's saying. Can we expound a little more, Miss Nicks? It's only the BEST song on the record!

What a loving tribute to Stevie's Mom to re-record Carousel with herself, her neice and Vanessa, as it was her Mom's favorite. The version of Carousel on 24K Gold is beautiful, I listen to it over and over. I find it to be an emotional song for me even before I saw Stevie's commentary on how Carousel came to be included on the album. This clip of Stevie sharing this very private personal account of her Mom's last visit home surrounded by her family was truly sacrosanct.

Wow, that was definitely choking me up. I'm surprised Stevie got through that story as well as she did.

Being Barbara's favorite song is indicative of how she must have felt about life and something I'm sure she would have said to Stevie, or anyone she loved while they were in a difficult situation. It's a very hopeful and positive song.
