Music Video: "In The Back of My Mind"
Another awful production to come out of the 1987-1991 era. They show Christine singing Stevie's backup vocals.

That should have stayed a Fleetwood Mac secret.

Very late-80s conceptual-type video. Mick playing skyscrapers, wow. I thought the young gal looked a little like his daughter. Does anyone know if it is?

Well, I sorta/kinda 'didn't mind' this tune off of the BTM album. When I caught this incarnation of FM at the Jones Beach theater here in NY, this was their opener. To be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect when the houselights went down and this creepy pulsing sound started coming (sort of reminded me of a horror movie or something, building to a climax where someone gets stabbed). There was a large screen covering the stage which was translucent but not transparent, where you could see the figures and I think I remember there were blue lights lighting it up (maybe they were differnt, can't remember). What I do remember though, is once the creepy, pulsing part was finished and it was sequeing into Rick's guitar and the 'ahhhhhhhh' vocals, the curtain/screen slowly rolled up (or down?) revealing the band with Stevie at center mic. I remember a wave of Stevie hysteria as the first 10 rows reacted to seeing Stevie there, everyone out of their seats and waving to her, snapping pics or whatever. I think she absently waved to the crowd. It was pretty obvious it was Stevie's show, even though she wasn't in a state to deliver. My brother-in-law remarked to me, "she looks sort of bloated".
I still don't think it's a bad song, particularly. Alot of production, and Stevie's vocals are numb, but I like the guitars and Christine's work on it. It's on my mp3 player, and I don't usually shuffle past it when it comes on. |

It is. (somehow it wants me to write at least 10 digits...so: blah blah blah)

I LOVE this song. It is absolutely my favorite from Behind the Mask, which is why I'm so horrified by the video.

Me thinks everybody is a little picky. Liam, if you listen a bit harder, Christine also sings a harmony on that same part as Stevie, so of course they would show her singing on it, too.
Sure, it's kind of a goofy video, but I thought it was ok. That's definitely in my Top 5 all-time Fleetwood Mac songs...and depending on the day, maybe even in the Top 3 behind "Oh Well" & "Hypnotized".

Wrong forum.
Anyway. Of the post-Rumours FM songs, this is one of my favorites (unfortunately, that's not saying a lot). I really like Rick's guitar parts and Mick's drumming here, but something always has and probably always will irk me about Billy's voice.

Yup. How did this wind up in this forum anyway? (Prob because the Billy/Rick/Bekka forum is low-traffic)
Ditto to the annoyance of Billy Burnette. I didnt' mind Rick Vito though, if only for his slide on Seger's 'Like a Rock' and the fact that he wore neat looking suits on stage. |

Yikes ... I really love this song, and the blue and black edits from the TITN DVD suit the atmosphere really nicely, but the rest is ... like the Go Insane video all over again.
Only worse. Though there's a lot to be said for Godzilla Mick. |

^ This song was done by an incarnation of the band after the Rumours lineup. That make it "Post Rumours" here at the Ledge. Doesn't matter that Stevie was still around & Bekka hadn't shown up yet.
