I think this is very cool. Also, the 8 gig will soon be 20 and then higher as my friends in the business tell me the jumps will be that high soon. I will get one when it is 30 gigs or higher.

What I want to know is why the hell can't the other companies provide the access to the web that shows the web pages like you see on your desktop. If Apple can do it, why can't they?

not that anyone cares, but this comes out tomorrow and I'm so excited. I plan to play with it all day Saturday.

the plans were released earlier this week and they aren't but like $20 more than my current plan for unlimited internet access.

so far, the reviews have been good. it seems to be living up to it's hype. there are a few things that they're saying could have made it better, but that's true with any phone. alas, I don't really have the money to get one just yet, but I'm hoping before long I will.

just kidding. the AT&T (Cingular) stores here let you handle the phones and check them out for as long as you want (a demo version of course).

I'm not really interested in buying it (and it is way overpriced anyway). I like my iPod & I like my cell phone, so I don't have a need for it. Plus I'd have to change my carrier from Verizon to AT & T & I'm happy with Verizon. I can't imagine camping out a week to stand in line to get one either.

it's not so much about the iPod or cellphone parts of it. it's more about the fact that it's the first "PDA" to run OSX software. all of us Mac users who have iCal, Safari and Address Book can now sync our stuff with a phone running the same OS. the photo album part is cool too. you can watch your videos. the touchscreen keypad is awesome. the internet capabilities of this phone are incredible too. watch the guided tour. you'll see.

btw, it is also for PC users. I know Amber had asked that before.

From what I read, the complaints are mostly about how bad ATT's Edge internet access is. But, if there is an open wifi near enough, it will switch to that. The only complaints about the product itself are:

1. The internal battery will need replacing in 2-3 years and it has to be sent to Apple for that.

2. The device cannot play flash items -- but it will play youtube stuff.

All in all, I will wait a year or more before getting one so the kinks can be worked out. But, I will have one one day.

The iPhone will be my Christmas present from my mom
I want the 8 gig, and its only another 100 bucks. it is relaviely reasonable for all you get out of it. I use a tracphone plan now so it wont cost me anything to kill my old plan, and by the time I get it, I'll have a job, so I will be able to aford the 60 dollar plan [I dont talk on the phone that much, Im probably one of the only teenage girls who can say that ] I only want it for its internet acess, and ipod and ill probably be using my phone more withen the next few years. [between friends, work, and when my mom works a full time job]. I think the 200 txt msg thing is reasonable too. people who txt more than that have issues imo o.O
