Yeah... I know... hard to believe!

Kristin has always been open about her sexuality and her friendship with the Indigo Girls and their "crowd". She even used to be a roadie for them way back in the day. It was starting to get around on Music Row and evidently Ms. Kristin wasn't willing to play the "role" and instead opted to be herself. GOOD FOR HER!!
It's refreshing to see someone not sell their soul and identity to that industry... for a change.

I remember discussing this awhile back with Deb, who also believes that the country music industry also looks down among any female who doesnt have a hourglass figure (Wynonna doesnt count, she was established before this trend started.)

When I think about someone admitting they're gay in the country music industry I always think of K.D. Lang. She has talent & appeal, but once it was known about her sexual orientation her career in country music crumbled.

Trust me, I am sure there are some big stars in country music today who hide their sexual identities in fear their careers will suffer (Kenny Chesney comes to mind very quickly-Most of his fans are females and if he was to admit he is gay that fanbase would disappear overnight-Mind you I dont know if he is gay or not, but that rumor sure persists itself.)

As for Curb Records (A big label, but not the biggest in country music), I think Tim McGraw has some major pull there, which could account for the push for Nemesis (People can slam Tim for his music all they want, but he is a very openminded 'liberal' dude.)
