Huh my sister said she laughed quite a bit and though the two had great chemistry

Interesting that you didn't find it funny - now I really want to check it out to see if it's good or if it sucks

The only one I'm excited about so far (I haven't been paying too much attention) is 30 Rock (that is the one written by Tina Fey with Alec Baldwin, right?) and if it actually is on Wed. at 8, that will interfere with AMNT (America's Next Top Model). Great, I only want to watch 2 shows a week, and they're on at the same time.
Besides the Sunday Fox cartoon block.

I think they are on at the same time, although that link I posted lists Top Model as being reruns. Maybe it starts later in the season?

I'm not a huge episodic or dramatic tv watcher on a regular basis, but the one show that I saw a preview for that looked really good is "Smith" with Ray Liotta & Virginia Madsen. It looked excellent from the preview.

On the surface, Bobby Stevens (Ray Liotta) is a family man with a regular job. In reality, he is a criminal mastermind who pulls off elaborate heists with a crack crew of criminals.

Because the finale implied that Lorelai slept with her ex, even though she's engaged. It's very unlike her character & it really pissed A LOT of fans off.

The creator of the show, Amy Sherman-Palladino, and her husband, Daniel Palladino, head writer, left this summer when contract negotiations fell through. The vast majority of the writing staff has also left, and the show's going to be run by a guy named Dave Rosenthal this year who only worked on the show last year.

Amy's episodes have always been the heart and soul of the show. She writes those girls better than anyone ever has been able to. Daniel's episodes tend to be the ones that epitomize everything that people are critical of the show for- the weird allusions, overly snappy one-liners, and speed talking- but he still writes solid, funny episodes.

They also made some really crappy choices last year in the way they chose to write the Luke-Lorelai relationship, especially in the season finale.

This is way too much to write about this ridiculous subject and shows that I care WAY too much. So, in short-

1) Show creator has left
2) Writing staff is entirely new
3) They really f-ed up last season, and I don't know if they can fix it
4) Could be last year of the show anyways

Well, she had pretty much broken it off with Luke when she did it. It was definitely out of character, though.

I keep rewatching that final scene with Luke & Lorelai (thanks, Tivo, for letting me torture myself for the last four months) and it's just heartbreaking. Why did they have to turn him into such a complete ass and her into a doormat?

^ I know. BTW - I love how my description was "They screwed up Lorelai & Luke" but you were all detailed about the writing & stuff. You're so right, though.

I can't believe you still have it on Tivo. I couldn't bear to watch it again.

Detailed = psychotic, Paula.

I do still have it on Tivo- I also have five hours of Arrested Development stored from February, even though I actually now own them all on DVD. I love that Tivo.

I did steadfastly refuse to watch, let alone record, any of the repeats of last year's episodes over the summer.
