Default Do you have the soundtrack?

I know there are a bunch of threads about Shut Us Down being on the Elizabethtown soundtrack , but they're all kind of old, so I'm starting a new one.

Does anyone here have the entire soundtrack? It is INCREDIBLE! I got it about 2 weeks ago (Christmas gift from a friend) and I am in love with it. I listen to it almost daily. Standout tracks (besides SUD, heehee) for me are:

It'll All Work OUt & Square One - Petty
My Father's Gun - Elton John
Come Pick Me Up - Ryan Adams
Long Ride Home - Patty Griffin ( I MUST get more of her stuff!)
Jesus Was a Crossmaker - The Hollies (what a catchy friggin' tune this is!)
Same in Any Language - I Nine
Hard Times - eastmountainsouth

Anyone agree? Disagree?

So glad that you posted this - I finally have a day off from work today (I think by the end of December, I'll have worked something like 26 out of 31 days)... and one of the things I plan to do is go to the second hand record store (did I say record?). I was contemplating maybe picking this up - and now I definitely will. I remember when it was available to listen to online, there was one of the Petty songs that I loved too (I think it might have been Square One) and I do love Shut Us Down.

PS The other album I'm picking up today is Body Acoustic! I can't wait - I've heard much of it but I don't own it yet. I just recently rediscovered When You Were Mine, and remember now why it was always my favourite on She's So Unusual. But I digress....

I own their CD, and the song above is on it. They are just terrific! I saw them opening for Tracy Chapman at the Fillmore in San Fransisco about two, summers ago. They were wonderful, so I got their CD. Their CD is just like their live performance. I was impressed. If anyone gets a chance to see them or purchase the CD, you won't be disappointed, especially if you like folk/Joan Baez-type stuff.

Pssst... I got it today!! It's so, so good. The only track I don't care for so much is the slowed down version of She Bop (it's a little weird to hear it slow). I'll Be Your River will be played at my wedding, if I ever have one. And Water's Edge is just stunningly beautiful. You're going to love it!

I have it. Bought it shortly after it was first released. I'm a huge fan of both Tom Petty and Lindsey Buckingham, so I skipped ahead to their new tracks ("It'll All Work Out" is an old Petty tune) and...

Was disappointed with both.

Then I listened to the whole thing once through and wasn't really impressed with any of it.

Maybe I just wasn't in the right mood for it.

I haven't got the soundtrack (yet) but I have a question. Maybe it has been asked before, I don't know. Where is Lindsey's Big Love (if I remember correctly it plays while O. Bloom is driving in his car) taken from, I mean which version is it?

Well, Big Love is not on the currently released Elizabethtown soundtrack - that's the one I'm talking about. Shut Us Down is on there.

But Big Love does appear in the movie itself, and is rumoured to be included on a second Elizabethtwon soundtrack, soon to be released. No one is quite sure where this version comes from, I don't think.

Default I bought it awhile ago

When it first came out, and I really liked it a lot. I have to listen again soon because I'm not associating the titles with the songs yet (except for Jesus Was a Crossmaker--really good song, and, of course, Shut Us Down--which I just told a friend I can't help singing whenever I shut down my computer;-)

Patty Griffin is the sh*t! She gets a lot of airplay on the radio here, she's considered a "local." Her voice is beautiful and she's a great songwriter!
