(Press Release) Fleetwood Box
(Press Release) While Fleetwood Mac is best known to pop music fans for their soft rock hits, it's their early work before Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham joined the group that is often heralded as their most important and influential. On November 1st, Sanctuary Records will release a 3-CD box set of this era, Men of The World - The Early Years, capturing the band's blues period of the late 1960s and their recordings with legendary guitarist Peter Green.
Men of The World - The Early Years revists Fleetwood Mac's legacy from 1968 through 1970. While the first disc concentrates on their early blues and R&B roots; disc two contains some of their more experimental, neo-psychedelic work studio work, in particular the sessions for the Then Play On album; disc three offers up some of the blistering live performances the band were legendary for. Several of these live tracks are taken from the celebrated Live In Boston gigs, which are considered by many to be the apex of Fleetwood Mac and Peter Green's career. All songs have been digitally remastered, and the extensive liner notes were written by Fleetwood Mac historian Neil Mr. Blues" Slaven. Originally called Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie first met as members of John Mayall's Bluesbreakers in 1967 and went on to form their own group, adding slide guitarist Jeremy Spencer to the line up. They released a string of hit singles, including "Black Magic Woman," Oh Well," and "Green Manalishi," cementing Green's status as one of the world's great blues guitarists. Eventually, Green left the group in 1970, the band moved away from their blues roots, becoming one of the most popular pop/rock groups in the world throughout the 1970s and 80s. ------------------------------------------------ The original Fleetwood Mac featuring Peter Green is about to be reissued and remastered. ‘Men of the World’ captures FM at their bluesy best between 1968 and 1970, well before Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham turned them into a pop band. The three disc set features their better known tracks on disc one, more experimental tracks on disc two and live material on disc three. Several of the live tracks were captured at their famous live in Boston gigs. Every song has been digitally remastered and features new liner notes written by Fleetwood Mac historian Neil Slaven. Looks like a compilation of Vaudeville Years & Show Biz Blues with a couple of Boston Tea Party tracks added on.
Nothing "new" or "previously unreleased" as I can tell.

I saw it in the racks over here today - they used the same cover photo as the 'Tell Me All The Things You Do' single. £12.99, which is a good price, but not good enough since I already have all those songs... not even ONE new track?
