![]() I had a teddy bear, of course.
Two stories come to mind. First, when I was a baby doctors thought I'd never walk due to a serious hip problem. On my first birthday I got up to walk to this bear that somebody brought for me. Needless to say, this shocked the folks. Second, my former next-door-neighbor (who is still one of my best friends & went to TimeSpace and The Dance with me in Philly) got hold of my bear when we were maybe five years old. I don't remember this, but apparently, according to my parents, she touched herself "inappropriately" with the bear & I ran away screaming. After that I wouldn't touch the bear again, I'm told. ![]() The bear died when our basement flooded years later. RIP. - Jake

![]() My childhood stuffed animal was a little white rabbit that I later named "Fluffy." I believe I got this as a gift at my first Christmas (when I was about 4 months old!). It actually looked like a rabbit when I got it. Later on, it didn't resemble a rabbit at all.
Eventually, he was missing an ear and his front legs. My grandmother began sewing old socks over him to keep him in one piece. She also added buttons (as necessary) for his eyes. But I never went to bed without him -- ever. My grandmother even went as far as sewing me a brand new Fluffy -- she made it the same...with one ear, button eyes, etc. but she used a pink sock. So that became Pinky, Fluffy's girlfriend. In fact, I have a collage of family pictures on my wall, and I can look up right now and see this pic of me and my dad taken when I was 2. And I'm holding the messed up, one-eared Fluffy. I'm sure he's still in a box somewhere. ![]()

![]() My teddy bear, "Brown Bear". Original, eh?
![]() I also had this Garfield doll that I got when I was like, seven... he had a tie-dyed tee shirt and I think a hippie-headband. Still have him, too. Also, I just got this huuuuuge penguin pillow/stuffed animal for Christmas that I just adore. It's the cutest penguin thing I've ever seen. ![]()

![]() I had a treasured small stuffed blue/pink elephant and a plastic "Tweety Bird" as a child...
Fortunately, I still own both of 'em as they are currently in my front room on a shelf along with my CLASSIC wooden fire-truck which still has the wooden firemen, working wheels & fire bell/firehose intact! Brian j.

![]() This is a bit embarassing, but what the hell . . .
I had a "Snake". Yes, only now do I find the whole sexual inuendo thing humorous. ![]() It was actually one of those baby crib "bumpers" that I used to drag around behind me every where I went. And I used to put the one end in my mouth (yes, more inuendo ![]() My first actual memory of being super pissed off was when my mother took it away from me. I later found it in a box under my parent's bed. I think my mom still has that damn thing!

![]() I have this little great white shark I named "Chelsea". I had her for a long time.
I got her when my family had their reunion at the beach. I found the doll in a gift shop and loved her ever since. She holds great memories, and sad ones too. She was the doll I hugged and cried on when I found out, several months after the reunion, my grandfather passed away from cancer. Thankfully, I still have her.
