Don't let those nostalgia glasses get too rosy. I remember the Black Ledge...

That was years later. And it was ugly.

Well, I guess it was before I was a lurker, then. Anyway, as I said, it was a lovely piece!

I haven't heard the Enchanted version in probably ten years; I just remember really not liking it and thinking it was ruined, but maybe it was just cognitive dissonance.
The Twister version is magnificent and is easily one of my favorite Stevie "solo" tracks. The 24KG version I almost respond to as a different song--and it is also magnificent and one of my favorite Stevie solo tracks. It and Mabel Normand were probably my favorite 24KG tracks--which is saying A LOT.

I hated the Mabel Normand demo. Couldn't believe she was doing it for her album and then... wow... what a turnaround! The finished version won me over!

OMG I felt the same way about the title song 24 KG. HATE the demo versions and I was so worried when I found out that would be the title of the album! But I LOVE the finished version and now it is one of my favorite songs!

I could never understand why she rerecorded Twisted for 24KG in such a dreary, flat style. It is a definite skipover for me. To me, the version with Lindsey is a thousand times more interesting.
I like all of 24KG except the godawful trio of I Don't Care, Watch Chain, and Hard Advice. Carousel and The Dealer rank low too. The rest is full of Stevie in all her overblown overdramatic raw best.

I love this song. The duo and 24 Karat. Enchanted version was blah.

Soundtrack version all the way! Enchanted and 24K versions are dull and boring to me, skip and skip there.

What was he hoping to accomplish? A big FU to LB? Well it failed miserably The LB produced version blows the others away. Hands down.

I'm in the minority here but I absolutely love the version she was doing on the Enchanted tour. It's the one she did at Woodstock. There was something about that intro that evoked the feeling of a storm coming and then when she starts singing it just brings in all the drama of the song. I love it. I've never heard a really good quality soundboard recording of it but I still listen to the recordings that are out there all the time.
