Mirage is the last album to capture the magic of the Rumours lineup. Tango sounds so calculated and desperate to be big. Big Love, Little Lies, and Everywhere are exceptions, but even they do not match the impact of Hold Me, Gypsy, and Eyes of the World. Rather, they seem sculpted, slick...professional as opposed to inspired.

The band has made good music since Mirage, but it's been fractured, parsed, and one-offish. Say You Will (like In the Meantime) is VERY substantial in comparison with Tango but will never get the same attention.
