Default Censorship

With regard to another particularly sensitive thread, I just want to state that censorship in any form can never be justified. At what point will this board become just a forum for fascism?

No one likes to see posts that they find insulting. But that is a matter of personal perception. The best way to deal with those is to ignore them!

While I agree that no post or thread should be deleted (except in rare circumstances...*cough* Arizona_Ranger *cough*), I don't think this board is becoming facist.

Someone asked if a mod could delete a thread, the mod said no but that the originator could, and the originator decided against deleting it. If a few narrow-minded people cry foul over such an inane, petty thing, so be it. It just goes to show that they spend their time unwisely.

I think it would be to the benefit of many for people not to ask for threads to be deleted or for others to stop posting on a thread. It's rather rude and causes all sorts of problems.

If people are asking that a thread be deleted, or for people to stop posting on it, then it has ALREADY caused all sorts of problems.

This board has standards of behavior. We all know that. If some members choose to ignore them, then the rest of the members have every right to ask the offenders to stop.

This is not censorship. It is adhering to the social standards of our society.

Please don't flame me about social standards. I didn't set them, society as a whole sets them.
