Round 1 Nominations: In the Meantime - Part 1
Ledgies, we arrive at the last album in Christine's catalog, her 2004 solo effort In the Meantime. Since we have 13 songs for In the Meantime (including "Come Out to Play"), we'll be doing two polls. The first seven will be on this poll - the others will be on Part 2.
Multiple choice - vote for the songs you believe to be Christine's best and definitive songs. |

The first time I heard "You Are" I thought, "Wow I love this so much better than Peacekeeper.
I love the guitar on this song, I think it glistens.

Northern Star and Calumny, are two of the best Fleetwood Mac songs ever!

To me, there is no Fleetwood Mac, without THAT Mac.
She was the balance that made it all work.

Without her, they're just being shameless street fighters.

I have always had difficulty taking this album in as a whole piece, but this poll has prompted me to reevaluate it on a song-by-song basis. And I have to say, Calumny and Northern Star would be brilliant additions to the list.

I could have voted for all of them. Such a great collection!
I would have voted for "You Are," which is a sexy song, but that simile--"The touch of your hand is like a blind man who now can see" is really awful. |

I like Michele's bit about her being hit on the head and then momentarily writing some weird lyrics. I feel the same about LB too. They have always just tried to find lyrics to make the melody work. Sometimes in a very cheesy manner.

(I actually like that song, BTW. Very left field esp. in the part of Christine.)
