I think that might be it. Do you still have it? John is dying to hear it! (As usual, he just fell off the turnip truck, apparently.)

Aaah, I almost feel homesick when I hear this, thanks trackie. In my opinion, Christine never reached this qualitylevel in songwriting anymore after 1982.

What a freaking great song this is. And John just rules.

No worries, Gerald. Glad someone enjoyed it.

But another good choice for that same market would have been "Ask Anybody." I think adult-contemp listeners would have gotten hooked on that one in 1984. I think it might have been one of the most frequently aired singles on those older-listener stations throughout the 1980s had it been released to radio as a single.
Does anyone else find this song to be annoyingly "choppy"? It's so "choppy", it's painful for me to listen to it. I don't know, to me, it just isn't "smooth" (I have no idea what the right word is to describe this, obviously!. I mean, it's "choppy' in the same way as "Not Make Believe" on the second SYW disc; Stevie's demo was melodic, but Lindsey made the song "choppy"!)

I always thought the other single they released from this album, "Love Will Show Us How", was a far better song than "Got A Hold On Me".
