Default Little Lies and Family Man 12 inch Maxi Singles

Hi! I picked up two Fleetwood Mac 12 inch maxi singles today. They are really cool- especially the Little Lies one. I was really suprised because I didn't know there was such a thing. So here is my question- did they like play different versions on the radio or were these remixes for the clubs? Or were these just available for anyone to buy? I was suprised when I saw them, so I kind of want to know what they are all about!

Hi Christopher,

The 12" maxi-singles were geared towards club play, but they were also available in most record stores.
Every once in a while, radio stations would play one of the remixes, but they usually stuck with the album or single version.
Back in '87, I did hear the "Little Lies" remix several times on the radio, and the "Seven Wonders" remix once.

In the US, Warner Bros. released maxi-singles of "Big Love," "Seven Wonders," "Little Lies" & "Family Man," and in the UK, a 12" was also released for "Everywhere."
Each had at least one main extended remix, and a dub version (which were mostly instrumental, with some backing vocals throughout... usually on the chorus sections).
The "Big Love" maxi also had a second dub mix, and the "Family Man" maxi had two main extended versions (the "vocal remix" and the "guitar remix"), and two dubs (which, of course you know, because you bought it!).

A lot of people think the remixes are just plain cheesy, but I think they're a lot of fun.

They are a bit cheesy, but I like them!

One more question, do you know where I can get my hands on the Seven Wonders maxi single? That is one of my all time favorite songs and I would love to hear a remix of it.
