Cool Stevie on Rosie

Hi there,

A few years back I remember Stevie being on The Rosie O'Donnell Show promoting Trouble In Shangri-La.

I was like 13 and had absolutely no clue who Stevie Nicks was. I was an idiot. Anyways...now that I'm a big FM and Nicks fan, I'm curious about the specifics of the show. I wish I had paid closer attention.

What song did she sing? What did her and Rosie talk about? Anyone have pictures? I know Rosie loves her (almost as much as Barbara Streisand hehe). One of Rosie's favorite albums is Rumours.

Anyways...I would appreciate any information you have. Have a nice day.

I think they did Rhiannon and Every Day. I'm NOT sure, so don't quote me on it. I think Rosie said, "Oh Stevie, HAEWAFY is one of my favorite songs" and Stevie said, "We could have done that! But we didn't rehearse!" LOL As for what they talked about...they talked about soap operas...All My Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital. Rosie and Stevie are BIG soap fans. They talked about other stuff too...but maybe someone else can help. Hope that helps for now!

EDIT--oh yeah, Rosie told Stevie that Fall From Grace was her favorite song on the album.

If I'd have written a song on "Rumours"? How about "You want a what?", or "We should have had a Pre-Nup". (John McVie)

Stevie did Landslide and Every Day. Rosie kept pushing these buttons on her stereo at her desk that played clips of Stevie songs. She did it every five seconds and sang along to them and everything. They talked about the Dance DVD and how Rosie has worn out her DVD of it. Stevie talked about her weight and how now she just works out to stay healthy. Stevie told Rosie about the Rumours DVD-A and how the first time she heard it, she cried. They really liked each other and were so excited they kept talking over each other! Stevie was really giddy, too!

She should've done Rhiannon or even Fall From Grace! Can you imagine?! A studio audience full of middle-aged houswives and then this woman comes out and rips through a hard-rocking song! Would've shocked them!

Now, THAT was hilarious! Especially when Rosie would sing along w/ those clips and get the lyrics wrong! LOL Remember when she was singing "one winged dove," while holding up one finger?

That was one of the best Stevie interviews ever. Rosie conducted the interview from a fan's point of view.

I know! Rosie was SOOOO excited so she put questions she REALLY wanted to know answers to in there...not boring ones her writers probably give her when she had people she didn't really know a lot about.

Thanks for all the replies.

Hohum. I wish I could find a copy of that. It sounds good. I can just see Rosie singing along with the music. Ha!

I absolutely loved this interview. I couldn't believe how excited Rosie was..it really made it fun. And Stevie was so cute on the show...I loved the part after she performed Everyday and she did that little running in place thing(I really don't know how else to describe it). And I don't know if anyone else noticed but after she did Landslide and Rosie hugged her you could here Stevie saying "now we're going to keep in touch right?" At least at think that's what she said... such a sweetheart.
And Stevie was on there a lot longer than most guests were...performed twice and had 2 interview segments. And then when the next guest came on, Will Ferrell, Rosie still kept talking about her. She asked him if he had ever parodied Stevie or FM in his skits.

If you go to www.nicksfix.com and click the "articles/interviews" link on the left and scroll down a ways there is a transcript of this interview.

now lets not start bashing middle-aged housewives!! lol . We are very supportive of Stevie in all her incarnations. who else but a housewife understands what an extra five to ten pounds does to your figure? Go to any concert and you can see that Stevie & FM has a very loyal following with the soccer mom set...you can tell who we are because we know all the lyrics...

hell, one of the reasons we're always tired is that we're still recovering from our RocknRoll past...

Don't you think it would've been great though for her to have rocked out on that tiny little stage? It would've been fab!

I think it was Rosie that said that and Stevie said "Yup...Okay" or something like that. I just picked up on that not too long ago, I'd always wondered what they wispered to one another.

I loved the whole show. Rosie was so syched to have her there and Stevie could feel it. It was hilarious about the watching All My Children comment Rosie made. I guess they have or had the same publicist at the time and Rosie got abit of info on her favorite soap.

Loved it.
