Default LB Isn't Screwing Around (Pollstar article)

Lindsey Buckingham Isn't Screwing Around
Monday, Jul 7, 2008 4:09AM

Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham has announced dates for a six-week fall tour of the U.S. with one Canadian stop thrown in.

The 27-city Gift of Screws Tour kicks off September 7 at The Mountain Winery in Saratoga, Calif., and wraps October 19 at Nokia Theatre Times Square in New York City.

Other stops include Moore Theatre in Seattle (September 9), Royce Hall Auditorium in Los Angeles (September 14), The Joint in Las Vegas (September 20), The Pageant in St. Louis (September 29), Murat Egyptian Room in Indianapolis (October 5), Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort in Atlantic City, N.J. (October 11), and Berklee Performance Center in Boston (October 17).

Further details, including ticket onsale dates, will be available at LindseyBuckingham.com in the coming weeks.

In March, Buckingham released Live at The Bass Performance Hall in CD and DVD formats. The disc documents a performance on the singer's 2006-2007 tour in support of his last solo project, Under The Skin.

Buckingham is reportedly working out distribution details for a new album due later this summer.

Thanks for the article Livia.

I like the title. (Very clever work on the part of the headline writer...)

Welcome to the Ledge!

It sounds like you have been to a concert and enjoyed it. Which one and what were your impressions?

I am kind of sitting on the fence and thinking I might sit this one out. The Denver concert lands on a date which conflicts with a family wedding in Illinois.

OMG, Lindsey's concerts are breathtakingly awesome!! I saw him 6 times because I thought so. And believe me, much as I may love music and concerts and artists, I have never been a person to get fanatical enough to see anything that many times. But LB was that good. I'd do it again, and I'd see more. So this time around, I'll see him as much as I can. His dates totally conflict with my job, but I'll figure something out. Yay!!! He's worth it. Believe me.

If that welcome was for me, thanks.

I saw Lindsey in March '07 at the Mobile Alabama Saenger Theatre. And yes I thought it was awesome. I hesitated myself to go because I'd seen Fl. Mac twice and thought it was so good and I wanted to end my concert experience with them on a high note (I'm crazy that way). Well I'm very glad I talked myself into going. Seeing Lindsey solo was just as special. He rocked the place that night. Talk about loud, that had to be one of the loudest concerts I've been to (not a complaint). And the songs from Under The Skin were much better performed live than on the CD. He opened and closed the show with my favorites from the new CD so that made it even better (Not Too Late, Shut Us Down). And I even got to play his guitar.

So yes anyone that possibly can should go. Even if you have to travel very far. Don't worry about the $$$ it's worth it. Don't be a "if ida' " person. Go Go Go.

...what imnotafraid said...and also, the songs sound so much better (and purer) in concert!! My friend came with me when he played in Chicago. She normally doesn't give a rat's *()^ about Fleetwood Mac, or Lindsey for that matter. But she admitted being pretty impressed by him. I think she said something like, "Yeah, OK, he's a pretty great guitar player, that Go Insane song is beautiful, and the concert was probably worth it. And I guess he's an attractive-looking older man." lol!

I was at this show and he was so cute during this part:

I was wondering . . . if this concert is more rock-oriented than the last, I wonder if Lindsey's three piece band will be enough. To me, they had all the sound they needed for a song like GYOW, but Lindsey may be concerned that they are not big enough to replicate other songs (like the OOTC ones we have asked for). A bigger band costs more, so I'm wondering if concerns like that dictate the setlist.

But I love raw live tunes... if he did a quartet electric band my brain will fill in the blanks... guitar, keys, bass, drums...

i'd rather have this than the piped in sounds...
