Thanks for posting. I had this magazine. It brings back memories. Its fun reading this now which would be so far in the future from then and know what was going to happen.
She says she is really happy where she lives now but maybe will get a small cottage in England to visit someday. We know in 6 years she would buy much more than just a little cottage and end up moving there full time.
She is very aggressive with the Fleetwood Mac new album timeline. It was not going to get serious for another 2 years. She is right about one thing in the future and that was making a new Fleetwood Mac album would be difficult. I think Lindsey would agree

I liked when she talks about her favorite songs, and though she had a point about it would be a thousand list, she mentioned Over My Head first (my fave too, though specially the Live album version).

She said she would live in England but not on a full-time basis. Obviously she was a different person than 1997 Christine. She also doesn’t mention her fear of flying, when she was asked about touring. She was very reserved; she could have mentioned that fear when answering why she would choose being in the studio. Anyway I wonder if that fear didn’t exist in the 70s and 80s.

She said Lindsey wanted to make another record. That’s hard to believe. It was difficult for Mick to convince him to start recording Tango in 1986. When he filed for bankruptcy in June ’84, he thought “Fleetwood Mac only barely existed at that point, but I knew that if I could somehow rekindle the flame and revive the band, I could turn things around. I also knew it wouldn't be easy and would take years”. That doesn’t coincide with Christine words. She meant Stevie & Lindsey would be skeptical about touring, but I also believe they weren't planning (or thinking about) on recording a Mac album in those days. However, she did admit it would be difficult. Well, when was it easy for Fleetwood Mac to record an album?

The interview was just before her solo tour kicked off (although it would not be released until months later). She would see Stevie the last night of that tour. Lindsey's solo album was coming out that summer and sort of flopped. Mick's bankruptcy was eminent. Mick needed another Mac album. If Mick and Stevie were not so out of control, Lindsey's intent would have been different. Once 1986 came around is probably when Lindsey saw the reality of OMG I dont think I can stay in this band. Chris being a good Brit with her psychic wisdom accurately predicted making a new album would not be easy. I dont think in 1984 Lindsey knew how bad things would get.
