David A said "ONE OF the best bands ever, they simply are". Yes, i think so too. ONE of the best (which means that there are plenty of other great bands) for different reasons that he probably explained at least one time in those numerous threads.

Of course, I must wonder if any of you will agree that the best band that never was is: Spinal Tap! |

As TerraRhiannon said, It's all opinion. I love OOTC but to me, Rumours, Dark Side of the Moon, Wish you were here and Synhronicity are far better albums.

The fact that you don't know GYOW is included in LIVE detracts your thread. Or maybe they sold you just disc 1?

Thanks. Now its MY TURN.
If you only see one film the rest of your life it should be "Mickey Blue Eyes". When it comes to window blinds, vertical blinds are terrific, but so are horizontal blinds. Has anybody ever died of a heart attack? I mean, really? I don't care what anyone says, in my book, Ted Kaczynski is not the Unabomber. Sudden thought: When did sugar diabetes become plain old diabetes? Of all of the figures of the 20th Century one of the greatest has to be Robert Urich. I have no tolerance, gang, for anyone who commits arson. The more I think about it, the more I appreciate the equator. I don't ever remember seeing a Mormon, not once, not ever. Is it just me, or is anyone else sick and tired of Nelson Mandela? Here's the dirty truth, gang, Poland spring water does not come from Poland. Does anybody remember baseball cards? Between Hurricane Hugo and Hurricane Andrew, nothing beats Hurricane Hugo. (thanks, Norm.) |

Unless they release a THREE LP set, to include an entire show, some songs just don't make the cut. And, from what I recall (and can even be heard on the live cut of GYOW), Lindsey seemed to have a definite tuning problem on stage...there may not have been a decent recording (to their standards, anyway) of "The Chain" that they wanted released at the time. Ummmm....not since '75. Lindsey & Stevie took them directly to "pop". Yeah, they can kick ass in concert, but their albums are, as Nick Lowe said, "Pure Pop For Now People". Quote:
