Default chris...2 quotes I found...

This was from an interview I just read today about Peter Green, from Uncut magazine 1/16/20...most of the article was about Peter but I thought these 2 little blurbs/quotes from Chris were really interesting. I had never seen these before, so to me it was exciting to find them. They're from 2 years ago... I think the 1st one is a great peek into the kind of person Peter was, while the 2nd quote does the same for Chris.

****Green's thoughtful personality was evident to those who knew him well. When John McVie married Christine Perfect in August 1968, Green was best man. "Peter came along to the wedding in his tan leather jacket with a yellow rose," recalls Christine. "My mum was dying at the time and he sat on her bed and talked to her for a good hour. He was fantastic."

****Christine McVie, meanwhile, offers one final memory of Green. It's a curious little vignette from the late 60's, before he left Fleetwood Mac. Perhaps it says something about Green's growing inability to engage with the real world. "He came over to our flat one night, when John and I were married," she says. "He knocked on the door and said, 'Would you wash my hair?' So I washed his hair and dried it. Then off he went."

Anyway...just wanted to share.

That reminds me of that Bob Welch interview where he talks about how Peter had cheese in his hair when he did “Nightwatch.”

That's true. I suppose self-care wasn't Peter's strong suit.

That certainly was true by 1973–or even 1970. But the washing hair vignette is beautifully ambiguous. He may have wanted an intimate, maternal touch, and Christine was an ideal (“Perfect”) figure to give that to him. In that sense, he knew enough to find someone to care for him. It’s an odd memory, but potentially a lovely one.
