This isn't a scandinavian country, but it means the same thing here!
Or, the lumberjack-sign of asking for four beers.

Ya have to make sure yer palms are facing up when ya do that dumb hand sign cause that is how ALL Oklahomans do that sign of non-support for the Texas Long(time before we beat Oklahoma)horns
question: if the palms are UP, does it mean the cow/bull (oh ok longhorn) is dead?
\/__\/
(___)__ oh well, that was my *dead* ascii cow-- it sucks.

I'm sorry but I don't think Bush has done anything wrong here. He was making a Texas Longhorn sign (my favorite college football team) and it got misinterperted.

Well, it's just a pretty unfortunate misunderstanding. And I think if I were the POTU , I would try to be aware of potential misunderstandings with hand motions and such with foreign countries. I would try to know about things like that ahead of time so that I don't do something that could be misinterpreted. Still, anyone could make that mistake, even the Planets of the Universe.

If you immediately think Planets of the Universe when you see POTU then all is as it should be.

You would "think" the POTU would do this but that would entail diplomacy which is not his strength.

Also, I think he is smarter than people think, it's just that his values are so effed that he seems dumb. Plus the foot in the mouth doesn't help. "Sovereignty means you're sovereign..." Genius. "Subliminimable..."

sweetheart, I agree with you that he should be informed of cultural differences when he goes to other countries... but it was in Washington D.C. and the Longhorn marching band was rolling through right in front of him... of course he's going to salute them the way he wants to while he is in the U.S. He didn't do anything wrong here!
