You are missing the point.
If Chris was fired the same way that Lindsey was and replaced with Sheryl Crow and Sharon Celani, to just fulfill their legal obligations for one final world tour then I would say the same thing.....Fakewood Mac. Why ruin your last moment as a band because of petty jealousy and blackmail and extortion.
Now you will be whipped with chiffon until Jane is performed in concert.

I’m not missing the point, I understand what you’re saying.

I’ll do you one better- let’s say Stevie was the one who was fired, and she was replaced by Sheryl Crow and Sharon Celani. Would you still consider them Fleetwood Mac? Because Christine McVie, John McVie, Mick Fleetwood, and Lindsey Buckingham would have still been in the band.

Or are you saying that you wouldn’t consider them Fleetwood Mac anymore, but Fakewood Mac?

I’m on record here in posts a long time ago saying that I’d have the same repulsion at the act if Stevie had been the one fired. At the point we’re talking about in 2018 the only reason the band should have carried on without any of the five “Rumours era” bandmates would be if someone elected on their own to leave. I think that basically for any time since The Dance. They cemented at that point that Fleetwood Mac is these five and that the Rumours era was the definitive version of the band in their opinion.

I’m glad to hear that you and Manfan4life feel that way- I like consistency LOL!

I feel that just like a person has the right to quit, the other people have a right to fire someone. Whether someone quits or is fired, the outcome, the end result, is the same. But if you guys really think you would call a lineup with John, Mick, Christine, and Lindsey and whomever replaced Stevie Fakewood Mac, well then my job here is done LOL!

Getting fired and quitting are never the same thing. It would be Fakewood if any of the 5 were tossed out by the other 4 and not of their own choice. If Stevie said she was done and left the band (which she should have done), and the other four decided to go on as a foursome or with someone else added, that would’ve been different.

If somehow Chris or Lindsey had the same power as Stevie and blackmailed the band to fire Stevie for their last tour and hired a Stevie replacement to sing her songs.....ABSOLUTELY I would call it Fakewood Mac. The replacement is hired ONLY as a contractual obligation and the person was replaced against their will.
