Question yuck

Not ONE new song as a "teaser" for the new album? PLEASE! Yuck! I hope
it's at least remastered, the long, not-edit versions, remixed, something!
Maybe some REALLY never seen before pictures, something really
personalized with comments, kinda-like Timespace. And what's up
with that writer saying that "Silver Springs" was a "minor" hit
off The Dance? Didn't it get nominated for a couple of Grammy's???
Pardon me if I seem to be in "bitch at" this greatest hits package mode...
It IS a full moon and I AM PMSing
PS:I wonder if THIS is the "double album" Mick's been
gushing about!

Well I'm gonna buy it, of course, it will be a nice collection, BUT I want the new one!

The time spent waiting for a new album's release is really great, and I'm glad to be in on this.....

But we've been waiting so long!
OK, enough whining. I'll be glad to have it.
I wonder what the cover will look like?

While I am a little disappointed that they didn't find space for at least one new tune, I am very impressed with the diversity of the tracks.
Never in a million years would I have guessed that they'd include "What Makes You Think You're The One" and "Storms."

Overall, I think this is a very nice little summation of the 'Rumours'-era lineup, and I'm very excited for the new album and the next phase in FM's history.

Talking wow!

October 15th release...?!?!

Didn't they say "Christmas time" originally??

....could it be...??.....a Fleetwood Mac release actually ahead of schedule....?!?! .........

The track list looks good! And if they're gonna be with a new label for the new album I'm not surprised there are no new tracks...

I wonder which version of I'm So Afraid (live) they've chosen Christy???....

Really weird tracklisting. Really. It has all the hits, true but... some choices are odd... like "What Makes You Think You're The One", "Storms" and specially "Family Man". I know it was a single and the like, but "Oh Diane" for instance (not one of my favorites either) was a bigger hit in Europe than the other one and it's not included... Perhaps some other great Lindsey tunes like "Eyes Of The World", "Walk A Thin Line" or even the fantastic and terrific "Tango In The Night" could have been included instead... Just my opinion, people.

Aw, man ....

"Excitement" ain't the word for it ....

Once I get my hands on this baby, I'll actually be able to play "Don't Stop" & "Dreams" simultaneously on six different CD players throughout the house.

It just doesn't get any better than this, folks ... let's all savor the moment.

Thumbs up LOL...

with what David said "Once I get my hands on this baby, I'll actually be able to play "Don't Stop" & "Dreams" simultaneously on six different CD players throughout the house."

...Ain't it the truth, Ya can never have too many copies of the same song to play, hehehehe...Even though I'm disappointed in the song selection, I'm still going to buy it, Thats "IF" I have any money left over from the Sir Paul McCartney show the same day. Man the 15th is going to possibly bankrupt me...lol...Brian

No kidding! You know what I'm wondering now, though? If maybe some of the "odd" songs that are being included in this are ones that are under consideration for stage performance when they tour in support of the new studio album? Stevie has mentioned several times that she'd like to perform Storms live. I'm wondering if they're thinking of performing songs like Storms, What Makes You Think You're the One, Second Hand News, Seven Wonders, Monday Morning, No Questions Asked, Sisters of the Moon, and Paper Doll? Maybe they're hoping to familiarize people with these songs before the tour? (and when I say "people," I'm referring to the general public who might be interested in seeing FM on tour, but only have Rumours and the Greatest Hits album in their collection at home, which would make them unfamiliar with a lot of these songs that are more "album cuts.") Most of those are songs that could be performed pretty nicely without Christine in the mix. Not to mention, they are all songs that are pretty upbeat and would be a lot of fun to do live.

What do you guys think?

Lori

PS: Assuming my theory is correct (and that's a BIG assumption
), why couldn't they have found some room on there for Angel??? I love that song and would give my eye teeth to see them do it live! I mean, there would have been plenty of room on the cds for that song if they, say, bumped off one of those old, tired, long-winded live tracks of Lindsey's, right? JUST KIDDING!!! **evil grin**

I know what you mean, David and Brian... but it could be worse, we could be die-hard Heart fans.
Capitol Records is putting together ANOTHER Heart greatest hits compilation.
This makes their fourth retrospective in five years, and the fifth of their career!

That's an interesting theory, and honestly I hope it's right! And it very well could be, because if you look at the more "obscure" tracks on the release, they are Stevie's and Lindsey's. The only one of Christine's is Skies the Limit, unless that was a true greatest hit and I just don't know about it, which is quite possible.

But all in all I have to say I'm disappointed that they're releasing this with no new tracks or anything, especially when their last release, The Dance, was virtually a greatest hits package itself, with a few new goodies.

I wonder how they plan to promote it then to the non-obsessed public who don't follow their every move? Are they going to release a single from it, or just hope that people buy it while rooting through a record bin?

what a disappointing track list...
this album is a 'fleetwood mac for beginners' kinda album.
as for me, i'm afraid i'm not in an economic state which allows me to buy a double cd for the sake of the sleeve alone.
still, i do see warner's point in releasing it, coz the 1988 greatest hits album needs to be replaced by a new, more current and more comprehensive version.
