Yup! I went during the Big Love intro speech and didn't even miss one note of the song. I got back to my seat just as the song began. Of course I didn't plan it that way but it was amusing nonetheless.

"Songbird" is such an iconic way to close the show.....personally, I wouldn't mind if Chris just stood there with someone else playing behind her!

It wouldn't be quite as iconic then, now would it?

I spoke to Sharon after the Bakersfield show last night and I asked her what happened to Songbird and Seven Wonders. She said that the band is just tired after performing so many shows with such a long set list. She added that Seven Wonders is hard for Stevie to sing also. She said that they've been considering doing the songs again each night but then the set list is too long. I told her I loved hearing Seven Wonders but it probably won't help.

Maybe what they should do is not do so many shows. Rather than just cutting 2 songs from the set, one of which doesn't involve the whole band and is pretty non-strenuous. You know, this audience is still going to be here if you took a break to do an album. If they're willing to come back after only 3-4 months at these prices and with the exact same setlist except fewer songs then they'll still be there in a year with a new set list.

Interesting. That makes sense I guess. They did all seem a bit sluggish on the clips from the 4/4 show.

Hmmm.
I can kind of understand Chris feeling it a bit as she isn't used to touring and she's older than the other two vocalists. Stevie's on the stage for less time than the other two though and is singing far less lead then she has done on the last few tours. Its a bit disappointing.
We know Lindsey can handle the exertion as he's already said as much in recent interviews. Perhaps if they are cutting Chris and Stevie songs they should allow Lindsey and extra one.

Thank you for taking the initiative to find out! I agree it's disappointing that Seven Wonders is the casualty when it is such a rarity. And although I also love Sisters, even that would be a better choice in terms of chart position as well as making this tour different with respect to Stevie's material.

I also agree it's a shame that Songbird is cut when people haven't seen Christine in 16 years. I hate to say it but cutting I Know I'm Not Wrong would be better to shorten the set and add Songbird and/or Seven Wonders back

I am really disappointed to hear that they have dropped "Songbird" in the interest of shortening the show and not because (as we had speculated) that Christine had hurt her hand. Personally I think that cutting "Songbird" is a bad mistake. It is such an iconic song for Christine, and for so many years was their last encore song. I would have been dreadfully disappointed if they had ended the show I saw with any other song.

To clarify, I'm glad Christine hasn't hurt her hand, but am sorry to see "Songbird" go.

They cut Songbird from the Dance Cd, too. ehhhhh That's an important tune.

Agreed. But if Christine wants one of her songs dropped, "over My Head"--as pleasant as it is--would be more preferable than "Songbird."

I just don't understand why the booked a tour this big and long. They are coming back to LA at the forum for a fifth show. They are in your 60's, 70's. Are they trying to drive Chris out of the band again?

OMH was a huge radio hit. Songbird was just an album cut.

Do you know how thrilling it must be for them to sell out 5 nights at The Forum? I bet Christine is thrilled and astonished she was missed so much.
