Well I'm just going to leave "ginger nut" laying right here, untouched.

BTW, whatever happened to Louie Golden, that used to be a mod here?

I love that “ginger nut” made you think of me . I’m still around but just lurk because there hasn’t been anything new to say in years. I've pretty much stopped listening to FM music as well. There’s just nothing to care about anymore with Christine’s death and Lindsey’s ejection.

It's good to see you're still around.

Agreed. We're all just kind of hanging around at the wake, after the funeral.

Seven quarters.

Not even a pinky.

Do you still keep that 2x4 in your trunk?

Statistically a hit would be a song that reaches the top ten? IAF wouldn't be a hit in that case, but it is to me, and since she included it in her compilations, and in setlists, it is to Stevie too.

In her last "best songs" compilation, Crystal Visions: The Very Best (I don't count boxsets cause they are not necessarily a GH collection), the list of songs are

1. Edge Of Seventeen
2. I Can't Wait
3. Sorcerer
4. If Anyone Falls
5. Stop Draggin' My Heart Around (with Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers)
6. Silver Springs
7. Dreams (with Deep Dish)
8. Rhiannon (Live)
9. Rooms On Fire
10. Talk To Me
11. Landslide (with The Melbourne Symphony) [Live]
12. Stand Back
13. Planets Of The Universe
14. Rock And Roll (Live)
15. Leather And Lace (Stevie Nicks & Don Henley)
16. Edge Of Seventeen (with The Melbourne Symphony) [Live]

IMO I wouldn't include Sorcerer and R&R as "hits", among others. In fact I agree she has not had a real hit this millennium. If we consider hits as songs within the general top 100, there were 14, all of them from the last century.

I’d say what constitutes a hit has evolved over the years. Originally it referred to hit singles; songs that performed well on the singles chart. No clear definition but I’ve always considered anything in the top 40 to be a hit. I think we’ve learnt through FM and solo over that past 30 years or so that reaching the top 40 is a good/difficult achievement.

Also to consider….songs can be popular and perform well outside the US market and thus be hits.

I wouldn’t consider ‘best of’ collections to necessarily be full of hit songs. Though the term has probably evolved to cover songs that are in the public consciousness, irrespective of their chart placing or whether they were even released as singles. Thus; landslide, the chain etc.
