Billy's latest Tweet says 'I'm still in hospital. Start rehab tomorrow.I just thank god I'm still alive. Love and god bless. BB'.
He's had health scares for a while. I think he said in his book he had a quadruple heart bye pass or something not too long ago.

I do hope none of this has been made worse by the fact of his not being chosen for the current FM lineup. Particularly not given the strong likelihood he was the other guy who auditioned for the Finn spot.

I'm not sure we can be certain Billy was the other person considered. There is a good chance- I can envisage Mick asking Neil Finn but also Billy as an insurance choice. Given the two, probably more publicity would be generated by Neil Finn so it was would have been a no-brainer on Micks part.
It could have been somebody else though. At a similar time that Neil was at Micks restaurant performing with Mick and the House band Brian Johnson (ex-AC/DC) was also there performing with them. I think he was interviewing Mick for a documentary but perhaps he was considered for Fleetwood Mac too at the same time.

I don't think so, Brian Johnson had to retire from touring because of his hearing problems, he can still perform for short periods of time but said he can't sustain an entire full set (and also I can't see him fitting anywhere in FM's catalogue so thank God)

Also would have to be someone capable of playing rhythm guitar which I don't believe Brian Johnson is.
