Recording of Black Magic Woman
I was reading how the Mac didn't overdub parts during the era of their first two records so it begs the question, who played rhythm guitar on "Black Magic Woman"? Jeremy Spencer? Or was there indeed an overdub?

Sure they did overdubs right from the beginning: "Long Grey Mare" and "No Place To Go" from the first album, also "Drifting", "Rambling Pony No.2" (plus the single version) and "Love That Woman" from "The Original F.M." - just to name the earliest ones. They might well have PREFERRED to record without overdubs, though.

This is the only reference about BMW I found in Mick's book.
...in March '68 when we released Peter's new song "Black Magic Woman." Three minutes of sustain/reverb guitar with two exquisite solos from Peter, "Black Magic Woman" was descended from "I Loved Another Woman" with one of our trademark fast twelve-bar shuffles as a coda. It wasn't a big chart success either when it came out, but it was played on the radio all the time and helped establish us in England and Europe even more.
