I’ve Got a Mind to Give Up Living
How many legit recordings of this slow-burning masterpiece? I know of a January 1970 New Orleans performance and another performance (1970?) from the Fillmore East (both YouTubed).
This is Fleetwood Mac at its incandescent height, a spiritual blues of forgelike intensity that seriously makes you worry for Green’s well-being at that moment. (Yet he retains complete control of the material.) It isn’t outlandish to suggest that Buckingham heard these searing guitar solos and was inspired to stretch his “I’m So Afraid” during his live career with the band.
