Hawkeye, my dad is the head of Exxon-Mobil Yanpet located in Yanbu. He oversees and coordinates all the operations and his departure at this juncture would basically cripple the plant. Since my dad has to stay, my mom has decided to stay too (the evacuation is not mandatory after all). They seem to feel like the additional security will fix things - although the guys who did it had been employees of Yanpet for years, which is why they had access in the first place. At any rate I hope they are right and that everything will be OK.

Up until a few hours ago the violence had not touched them, but last night there was a car bombing, shootings, and one dragging death in the compound where they live - that was supposed to be safe. Mom is coming home but Dad is considered "essential personnel" and will be staying regardless of what happens.
