Default Zell Miller (D??????) of Georgia

Anyone catch his appearance on Meet The Press yesterday morning? I knew nothing about him, other than he was a Democratic senator from Georgia. He is right wing conservative right down the line, based on what he said. Strand, you have any information about him?

Zell Miller is a DINO (Democrat In Name Only). He is speaking at the Republican National Convention this year and should either be thrown out or change his status to Independent.

Yeah I certainly figured out the DINO part. They were discussing his speaking at the RNC, among other things. I was trying to post the transcript of the show yesterday, but my PC is doing flaky things today and it won't let me, but here's the link if anyone's interested:

Zell is from the Old Southern Democrat idea of politics. He thinks the new D party is too liberal. I think he ought to pay back every dime he took from teh D Party while he has held this notion. Having said that, he did play a key role in not changing parties and allowing the D's to keep contrl of the Senate and for that he is to be lauded IMO even though he always voted with the R.'s

I thought Jeffords should've paid back the Republican Party when he switched to Independent a few years ago. It annoys me when people run on a Party's platform, use their money, and then bail. Bail before you run for re-election.

What surprises me is why he'd have such an issue with Kerry and Edwards. Seems to me that, except for a couple of issues, they are in the same boat politically.

I guess when you're on the Dubya's payroll you'll say just about anything to get in his good graces. I saw this interview. I thought he came off very weak in his stance on the issues and he was not an effective speaker at all.

Out of curiosity, is "Zell" short for something?

He's useless. But he was useless even in 1992 when the Democrats were lifting him up as one of their stars with great national potential.

How times change!

Hmmm, I think Lieberman is a flaming liberal compared to Miller.

I think the Democrats should run both Lieberman & Miller out of the Democratic party!

Miller was a great governor of GA, although many HAVE suspected how much of a democrat he really is...it's always been said though that a "Georgia Democrat" is a whole seperate party..lol

Many believe Zell always ran as a Dem.. to win election in GA, because he knew he wouldnt win as a Republican...GA , until 2002 had never had a republican governor, since the 1800's....

Zell created some great things for GA though...He set up the GA Lottery which all proceeds go to the HOPE SCHOLARSHIP... HOPE is a program that guarantees that all GA high school students who keep a B Average throughout high school will get their tuition paid in full to any public university in GA...and they have to keep the B Average in college to continue receiving it...it's a great program, that I have benefited from myself...thats why I like him!
