Lineups...If It Were Up To You??
Ok..So many times there have been lineup changes that I'm sure some of us have been less than pleased about...So if it were up to you???...What lineup change would you wish you could change?...(Not including the new album lineup because we don't really know whats going on) ...For me I really wish Bob Welch had stayed in the band a bit longer...

I, for one, was very sad to see Rick Vito go... though I am very happy to have Lindsey back.
Generally I'm just so happy to have a functioning FLEETWOOD MAC, that any lineup pleases me... though admittedly I have my favorites. Johnny Stew

Well, let's see...my ideal lineup would be:
Mick Fleetwood-drums John McVie-bass so far that's a "DUH!" Christine McVie-keyboards and then a guitar army: Lindsey Buckingham Bob Welch Rick Vito Ahhhh...I know what you're thinkin'..."hey, chiliD, if you're such a Peter Green fan, why don't you have him listed?"...I'm ahead of you on this one ...he wouldn't really fit in with this lineup; plus, I wouldn't want to take Peter AWAY from the Splinter Group. ********************************* Johnny Stew...you'll like this one! And, I'm a little bit a' thinkin' that maybe instead of Neale Heywood being second fiddle this coming tour, we might, just MIGHT, (I could be wrong, but this little itchy feeling is just getting too strong) see the return of Rick Vito to compliment the guitar work of Mr. Buckingham this tour. There was just too much of a twinkle in Rick's eye last Friday when he introduced "I Loved Another Woman"..."there was this band I worked with a while back...yeah, THEM...here's a song from OUR...uh, I mean..THEIR..very first album written by Peter Green, who's still touring with his own band, it's called "I Loved Another Woman" |

OMG... this is a great post Adam... I had to put in my $0.02 worth...
This is MY ideal Fleetwood Mac: -Lindsey Buckingham -Mick Fleetwood -John McVie -Rick Vito -Dave Mason Throw in any keyboard player, and I'm good to go. But I DO NOT want Chris or Stevie... no female backup singers, either. I just want to hear these three guys singing THEIR songs... imagine the songs they could do: -I Loved Another Woman -Oh Well -I'm So Afraid -Blow By Blow -Tusk -Not That Funny I'm thinking those 6 songs would be the best with those people... either way, it would be one helluva show with the guitar playing!!! I really think that the best lineup is: Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, John McVie, and Mick Fleetwood. They obviously were doing something right. They had the most success together, and I can see why!
Several people had listed a lineup without Christine and Stevie. I don't see how that could be really beneficial. They are two of the best songwriters ever, and not to mention their other talents. Without them, Fleetwood Mac wouldn't have had nearly as many awesome songs to sing nor would the guys have been as inspired to write their songs(seeing that many of their songs are about Stevie and Christine). On the same hand, Christine and Stevie--being in the group--inspired them to write many of their best songs. These people have the perfect chemistry together. I say why mess with perfection!

I have to agree with you. The Rumours line-up seems.. in my opinion.. to be the best one. They were the most successful thus far.. they obviously are doing something right. I wouldn't change a thing!
