-ned’s “homeless guy” piece of **** acoustic strung up to “nashville tuning”. this is a technique i love! lindsay buckingham of fleetwood mac does this often. u take the very thin high octave strings from a 12 string, and put them on a 6 string guitar. we have done some subtle background layering with this sound, but it is featured prominently on hourglass. together with a regular 6 string acoustic, we created the sounded of the main guitar figure that opens the song.ned was kind enough to let us designate his acoustic as our full time nashville strung guitar.
