Over & Over is a gorgeous song .The artistic endeavor of Tusk was to shake people's perceptions so of course it is going to have a strange opener. I have seen some people opine that Christine was the weak link on Tusk .There was no weak link on Tusk just as there was not on Rumours or the 1975 album either. Of course after this things would begin to unravel.

Agreed—there is no weak link on any of those albums. I suspect some people consider Christine’s TUSK songs weaker than her usual standard because none of her songs there has the impact of her previous four hits. But it’s an apples-oranges comparison. Her songs on TUSK, though every bit as seductive, warm and approachable as her material on FLEETWOOD MAC and RUMOURS, were produced as exquisite low-fi songs to counterpoint the rougher-edged material. It’s no accident that “The Ledge” follows “Over and Over” and “That’s Enough for Me” precedes “Brown Eyes.” The sequencing is deliberate, intended to startle through contrast. “Think About Me” is the exception: that tune, the closest thing to a typical FM hit on the record, blends cool California sophistication with crunching guitar. It’s one of the few spots on the record that synthesizes the old with the new.

Christine is always ready for every album. She never has any duds or "padding" as she calls it. I like some more than others but each song of hers is always good. I posted this years ago but its worth posting again. Someone created this amazing tribute to Christine with an alternative version of Never Forget

Musically, I have to agree! I like the gentleness of it, the way it eases you into the album, in the same way that NMMC leads you out of it. It's just not my fave. If any one of her songs is a weak link, it would be this one, but I think they pull everything together nicely.

Christine doesn't have a bad song on the album IMO.

I enjoy Christine's sleepers(Honey Hi and Never Forget) far more than the old goat's(Beautiful Child and Storms). Christine's are soothing.

(Here I go again)

Ok you don't like Oh Daddy because there is no "beat" but like Honey Hi? What about Never Make Me Cry?

I'm sorry, I cant let go of this. I will follow you down till the sound of Oh Daddy will haunt you

Throughout her long career, Christine has never written a bad ballad, all are wonderful and sung from the heart. Come to think of it, she really hasn't written a bad song even though of course, some are better than others. Far too overlooked are her wonderful songs on Time.

I know that you can't let it go, and that's okay(if anyone has a hard time letting things go, it's me, so I understand).

You know, I prefer blonds over brunettes, and both over redheads. Sometimes there's not a valid reason behind someone's taste. It just is what it is.

Ask me how I feel about goat...

Oh Daddy is one of the best Mac songs ever. Iconic. Sorry, I can’t let this go, either....

Oh Daddy is beautifully arranged, amazing vocal, sparse/terse drums, lovely keys, lush harmonies. I'm not letting this go either. Go to the beach already and sober up.

Yes I agree. Can’t stand the old goat now but her songs are flawless. Love Lindsay songs as well the only one I don’t like of his is That’s enough for me just because of the screaming.

He is actually a very long time fan and probably a decent person who has just not yet realized what a sad awful person that Stevie has become.
