Default Meadowlands Sept 14, 1982

Today is the 40th anniversary of Fleetwood’s concert in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Sept. 14, 1982. Really good concert.

This was a really nice listen David - thanks for sharing! Do you have any more from this show? I feel like I’ve never heard anything from this one before.

I don’t have any more soundboard from Jersey, but there’s an audience tape of the whole show. Maybe someone who has converted that can share.

I did find this audio clip of the old Bobby Freeman perennial that Fleetwood Mac was horsing around with during a rehearsal for the 82 tour. Have you heard this?

No! Never heard that one before! Some of this would seemingly never fit in a set list but I love hearing them screw around with things like this!! I’ve heard a few rare things from the Mirage rehearsals…I want to say I’ve Been Loving You Too Long and also the band screwing around with the riff to Edge of 17.

Schlitz Light and $15 Fleetwood Mac tickets…

God, I miss 1982.

As a teen when we would drink beer in the woods, we always tried to stay away from Schlitz beer. The universal saying was Schlitz gave you the Schlitz.

On another note, one of my favorite Mirage group photos has Christine wearing a Schlitz beer cap. But we all know she was a champagne girl.

BTW this Sara is very angelic. It could almost pass for a Tusk tour song. Her voice is so classic. There are parts of the Mirage tour where her voice was a bit fried and raw and that became more prevalent on the Wild Heart tour. But this Sara has outstanding vocals and she is not even trying that much. She hits that ooooooooooooo midway just like the studio version. This tour was the last time that would happen.

I love the slightly faster tempo of Mirage Tour Sara. I really wish we got the full live Mirage Tour set on the Deluxe Mirage.

Wow, towards the end of the road of Mac Mark X in a touring sense. Sara sounds like the truth here. Thanks again David.

Agreed—that’s a wonderful Sara. Everyone sounds really good on it—and the sped-up tempo feels natural, not rushed.
