To be fair to Mick, Fleetwood Mac was at its most successful when he was their coked up manager. He might have enabled them to blow their money on stupid $h!t, but if he could only be judged on the albums from HAHTF through Tusk (including French Kiss), I'd say he wasn't all bad.
Yeah, but I'm sure it took him a while to develop a million dollar coke habit. They couldn't have been getting rich during the HAHTF era.

So I'll just say it....

Mick is a VICTIM.

Of his own stupidity. I'd love to know his IQ. He's an artsy fartsy idiot.

I’ve always said that the band made its best musical and commercial decisions when it was self-managed. I also think that most of the crap they endured from each other in later years could have been worked through if they had still been self-managed. When everyone — especially Stevie — brought their entourage and “representation” along, it compromised internal decision-making, frustrated all of them, and soured everyone on wanting to work together. I saw it happen. It’s a shame, but nobody in the band cared enough to correct that problem and revert back to the five of them taking care of themselves.

This reminds me of Stevie saying that the psychiatrist told her that she needed to take care of people. And no longer needing to tend to other people was one of the worse things that happened in her life. When your life loses the balance of both giving and taking, priorities shift sharply. Personalities warp.
