That's All For Everyone in Margot At The Wedding (Nicole Kidman movie)

Hi guys,

I was just watching a very odd, very bleak, yet very intriguing film called Margot At The Wedding, with Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Jack Black. For those who haven;t seen it, it's by Noah Baumbach (The Squid and the Whale) and has some great performances from the two women - especially Nicole who very bravely plays a completely unlikeable character!

Anyway, imagine my surprise towards the end when That's All For Everyone was played on the soundtrack! It's such a random song to choose and fits so, so well with the scene - it's inspired!

I was watching it because I'm spending the weekend re-writing the Nicole Kidman chapter of my phD and it's going to be a long one, so this was a nice bonus!!

I know! I wasn't expecting that either.

You're right -- both ladies did a great job. I adore Nicole Kidman. She was my avatar on here for a long time. I think she is fantastic in nearly everything she's done.... even the lousy movies like Stepford Wives and Bewitched.

Gypsy - we should chat! Nicole hets an entire chapter in my phD, I'm writing it this week! God, The Stepford Wives is bad, but Bewitched and Far and Away are probably her worst films!

I loved Stepford Wives actually and Bewitched was alright. I really like Moulin Rouge though she looks beautiful in that movie and you got to feel sorry for Satine and she's an awesome singer!

I haven't had anyone to discuss Nicole with since Dissention quit posting years ago!

I forgot about Far and Away, it's awful.

It's so hard to choose, but I think my favorite performances of hers are Dogville, Moulin Rouge, and To Die For. And Birth. And parts of The Hours.

What are you studying for your PhD?
