Default Mick on new podcast this Sunday

Mick is the forthcoming guest on the Rockonteurs podcast, presented by Gary Kemp of Spandau Ballet, and Guy Pratt, super session bassist. It looks like he’ll be covering familiar ground - hopes for hatchet-burying, new music with Lindsey etc:

Thank you for finding this!

Did Mick say "it almost makes me cry"?!

I would actually like Mick and Lindsey to do an album. I'd be fine with a group with Mick, Neil, Mike, LB, and John.

I think Mike is actually happier doing his stuff with The Knobs and producing artists. Plus he could restart the Heartbreakers with Eddie Vedder or another young singer.

Neil's got his Crowded House album out this week and a European Tour in 2022 so he'll probably promote this album all of '22.

I'd love for Lindsey and Mick (John if willing) to play in studio this year. Stevie's doing her festivals this year so Mick can do what he wants.

Yes, I believe he did...

He also said ‘we don’t do things like that’ about the idea of getting rid of Neil and Mike - erm, yes you do, Mick...

You'd hope an interviewer would say "What about Rick and Billy?"

These interviews with Mick and the one with Neil make Stevie out to be alone on an island.

Mick's totally left the anti-Lindsey narrative.

Bob Welch did control his own fate. Which I respect.

I was speaking in connection to Lindsey's parting co. with FM.
They, Rick and Billy, weren't chosen for the 97 tour, nor where they chosen for 2018 tour. Sad.

There is an urban legend which I think may have been posted on Bob's old website of him running into Lindsey once he left the band and they were recording the White Album. Lindsey supposedly asked Bob "How in the world could you stand working with these people?"

I just love that story

Yes, but Bob Weston didn't.

The link to the Neil interview is in the "Present Band" forum.

But for those who are not inclined to check there, and as it's relevant to what the band may do next and Mick's role in everything, I'll post here as well:

Here’s the link to the Rockonteurs site, where you can choose your preferred podcast supplier:

https://www.rockonteurs.com/

It’s a great podcast - lots of very interesting guests and very idiosyncratic. Heavily UK-leaning, inevitably, with people like Bob Geldof, Boy George and Nick Mason. But they know their stuff!
