Not quite. A "belch" is a synonym for "burp," though its use generally implies a much louder sound than a regular burp.

Thought so - but I swear - I have never heard that term anywhere else except for this board. Its like I have been living in a cave all my life!! (I live in New Zealand, so I may as well be )
