Ricky
I don't know if this has been discussed but who is actually doing the singing on Ricky? It sounds like Christine but sometimes it sounds like one of Lindsey's freaky modified vocals as well. And you never hear Christine do anything so breathy and non-melodic as this, which, if it's her is a really cool departure from her usual style. And who is this song about anyway? Is there any story behind it? It was such a quirky B-side but has always been one of my favorites from the Tango era.

I have a demo version with Christine singing. I'm assuming it's her on the "official" track, too.

Maybe it's Richard D.
Or maybe it's just play words to placehold for what was largely an instrumental tune. I think the band thought it was a throwaway, & I agree with them. All I can hear in this thing is just a very, very slight study in texture. And nothing very interesting there to these old ears: the percussion accents, the acoustic guitar Alberti broken chords, the breathy androgynous vocals, etc. It's the boring underbelly of the "Tango in the Night" approach.

The verses sound like Christine and the 'Oh Ricky' part.
The 'Tell me, tell me, tell me' and the 'please, please, please' parts sound like CM and LB.

Yes, it's Christine. It's amazing to me how I knew that it was Lindsey's personality in the song, before I knew who the writers were and only hearing Christine's voice. It's Christine possessed by Lindsey.
Remember the pie fight to say goodbye to Richard? Michele |

Love this song. It's not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination, but it's fun and a little adventurous by FM standards (even for Tango).

I agree, I get the same sensation as I do when I hear You and I part 1..
