Well, I think it’s safe to assume some of those songs ended up on LBCM.

IF they release something, I think it’ll be closer to the tour.

I recall Lindsey, Mick and John recorded about 7 tracks before Christine came back on board. I think they may have been additional to the future BM songs but I'm not too sure. Also, I think the ones from those sessions may have just been instrumental tracks but I'm not certain.

Edit: in retrospect I think a couple of those songs ended up being BM songs but obviously not all of them.

Looking down the BM credits, three tracks were co-produced by Froom, these being In My World, Lay Down For Free and On With the Show. Sleeping was a leftover from Seeds We Sow so apart from the Chris co-writes that really only leaves Love Is Here To Stay as new from Lindsey on that album, much as What's The World Coming To was IIRC about the only LB track on Say You Will that wasn't either recorded/performed around Dance time or originally intended for Gift of Screws.

But admittedly I'm going off topic here.

I think Peacekeeper was new for SWY, too.

Campbell talks about the plans for Heartbreakers to tour with different singers in Tom's place, following up by possibly recording new material with some other songwriters (hmmm, Nicks maybe?) and tour that new Heartbreakers material. so doesn't sound like there's much plan for MC with FM after the currently booked tour is over. and any new material MC would work on seems pretty clear would not be FM.

I really think he’s a stand up guy and appreciates and respects the legacy of his band and their legions of fans. I never really thought there would be new music out of this bunch, and I have to wonder if mike and Neil believe and acknowledge this is a one gig event for them. With all the innuendo out over the last few days, whether it’s true or not, it just goes from worse to worse for this band in terms of press and PR. Mike is preserving his legacy. Much respect there

I think that's a whole lot of tarot card reading from an article titled "We'll play together again someday."
I do hope you get to see Lindsey with FM again if that's what you really want.

Wasn't there supposed to be some kind of 50th anniversary compilation coming? Maybe the two or three new tracks will be on that, much like "The Chain."

If there was then it's a year late but then so was the Rumours 35th and Peter Gabriel and Paul Simon were similarly guilty with anniversarial reissues of So and Graceland.

you know, when a dog does its business people use the expression "he's leaving his calling card" on your lawn.

In other words, a calling card can be a turd.... in any sense of the word.

Do a double disc like Journey did that one time; one with 10-12 new songs and another with 10-12 updated versions of their older songs. You could do;

Chain
Little Lies
Dreams
Second Hand News
Black Magic Woman
Say You Love Me
Hypnotized
Oh Well
Don't Dream It's Over
You Make Loving Fun
Go Your Own Way
Landslide

It would be nice if they could put a little EP together during the mid-tour hiatus, but I believe Neil has a short European tour scheduled during the break and with the holidays and such, I don't suppose they would have time.

I don't see why they cant put something together sans Neil and then get him to add bits afterwards. Christine surely has songs ready to be worked on and maybe Mike could bring something out of Stevie. Its a lost opportunity if they don't use such an opportunity to record something now they've gotten their chops. It would be Stevie's opportunity to show Lindsey you don't need to spend forever in a studio tinkering to make some music.
