Stevie almost killed me in 1997

In 1997 during the Dance tour in West Palm Beach FL, Stevie showed up excessively late for sound check (reported by the Palm Beach Post). Because she was so late, it forced the band to conduct their soundcheck when the gates were about to open. I was in that line when the band performed Dreams on their sound check. I was in tense shock because the Who concert in Cincy kept flashing through my mind. OMG, is everyone going to push and stampede everyone. Everyone was like..... Are we late? Why did they start early? The concert started at 7:30 and the sound check was just after 6pm at an outdoor amphitheater. Nothing like arriving to a concert to hear them on stage performing one of their biggest hits. Here comes the stampede. Real. Smart.

Donald Trump was at this show btw....sitting in the second or third row.

All negative feelings regarding Stevie aside, this story certainly highlights the fact that women are held to a different standard than men. You wouldn't see a headline about how Bruce Springstein snubbed Chris Stapleton, and even if you did you'd probably say "So effin' what". Women in the music industry always seem to be pitted against one another. From Madonna and Gaga, to Britney and Christina, Stevie and everyone.
I mean, if you found out that your regular server at your favorite restaurant wasn't particularly nice to their co workers through second-hand information, would it matter as long as they were pleasant to you and got your order right?

I'm sure it will help Nancy sell a few more books though.
