Default Outbid on 1984 album with 10 SECONDS to go!

Ok - which one of you did it?! haha...

I was bidding on a vinyl copy of Chris' 1984 album on vinyl on eaby and someone came in with 10 seconds to go and outbid me! I can't believe it. I didn't have time to increase my bid! I knbow that that is the risk you take with ebay but I've never lost out on something so close to the deadline before! Aaaaghhh!

So annoying!!!

NOO!

It wasn't me, 'cause I won mine on Friday night for £3.30. I'm still in shock.

Have you tried amazon? I just got the Christine Perfect re-issue for £8. I'm in some serious shock

One for £5 on Amazon

Well done!

Have decided that I really want a vinyl copy. I'll keep hunting for one!" If Ihave to I'll get it on cd though.

Ahh, I didn't notice that it was a CD

There's this Buy it Now one, to avoid being outbid. I've bought from York Records before, they're pretty good,

or, this one at £4.50

Thanks guys. I saw both of these but the problem is that I'm on a [I]very tight budget right now so the ones for under £5 including shipping were ideal. Until things improve I can't really go over that. I do know that I was lucky to find a couple with that price at all! I'll get one of these in a couple of weeks when finances improve if they're still there. I can't expect to find such brilliant bargains all the time, it's just that the 10 seconds was so annoying!

Oh well, it happens.

EBay has a thing called "proxy bidding." You decide how much you are willing to spend for the item, and you bid that much. Then you go away and don't look at the auction again.

If you are not outbid, you win, often for significantly less than what you bid, since they only charge you an increment above the next-highest bid.

If you are outbid, you didn't get last minute fever and spend too much.

It is a great system and works a heck of a lot better than "sniping" (bidding at the last minute).

Just my two cents' worth.

Best of luck getting the record. I guess I'm pretty lucky. I found my copy at a record store for just 1.99 US.

I've had another scout about for you, seeing as I won the £3.30 one.

This one's 99p for now, but it doesn't say how much the shipping is,

I've contacted this seller to see how much the delivery charge is. It's coming from the UK and tt says Courier for the delivery method (seems weird - what's wrong with just posting it?!) so if I hear back in time and the delivery price isn;t ridiculous (as it often can be when anyone specifies anything other than standard post) then I will definitely bid!

I bought a David Bowie one this time last week and it's coming courier... It's still not arrived. I hate the things, but your records are treated better than with royal mail.

They lose your stuff, break your stuff, then go on strike every so often for a pay rise.
