I have a big bottle of Omega 3 pills, but eating fish is more delicious. Omega-3 fatty acids stay liquid at colder temperatures, so the fish that swim in colder waters have more of it.

These are the best fish for that purpose:
salmon, albacore tuna, mackerel, lake trout, Atlantic halibut, sardines, herring.

Conversely, if you are worried about our fish population, and you should be - both at the low quantities left and the high level of pollution contained theirin - or if you are a vegetarian - you can get flax oil suppliments and/or eat flax oil or flaxseeds for Omega 3. Also walnuts and some other nuts.

I'd like to take this opportunity to recommend a book, or series of books, by Dr. Mark Hyman. I bring this up because of course he touts and explains the great need for Omega 3's.

A large point in his books is that high fructose corn syrup is basically poison, it is contained in most foods we buy, we shouldn't eat it, and its widespread introduction to our food (roughly 25 years ago) directly correlates with the precipitous rise in obesity in this country.

High.Fructose.Corn.Syrup = Devilobesitypoison.

You can find the science for this, and more details, online (or of course in the books).

BTW, y'all, for this week's groceries I eschewed more fruit for less but organic fruit (It wasn't easy, Safeway had whole watermelons for 3 dollars! But I did it).
I have never, ever tasted more delicious strawberries. Ever. It was so worth it. And I eat my strawberries and other fruits plain (ie, no sugar) so I really notice the flavor. So, not only did I help the environment, but I had super delectable strawberry snack as well. Savorlicious.

I have been taking 2 tablespoons of Flax Seed oil (Omega 3) every day for about 2 years now - I can't tell you how good it is for your skin.......

True! Add 2 tablespoons of coconut oil per day to that, and people might actually start mistaking you for an infant, swear!

I was looking at my skin last night, and it does look so much better than seven months ago. It's much smoother, and also the oil is better regulated = less breakouts. I notice especially because I have bad skin. I've always done Omega suppliments, but adding coconut and the microdermabrasion and quit smoking, the change is dramatic. IMO.

Really!? I will have to give coconut oil a try

I too have always had bad skin - I was covered in acne since I was about 13 or 14, and I went on accutane about a year and a half ago now, and have never looked back - I started taking flax seed oil about 6 months before I started accutane on the advice of one of my skin specialists, and I would never even consider stopping now - combine that with drinking a minimum of 2 litres of water per day for the past 2 years, I have never felt more healthy, and my skin is so radiant, and I rarely have a break out anymore

Arrow Michael...

I'm so going to try some crushed Tylenol on my face! LOL I'm desperate. I didn't have skin problems as a pre-teen/teen, but these days... I do drink water and lots of it, but right now, I'm drinking a Pepsi. My diet sucks too.

I'm also going to look into the Flax Seed Oil and coconut oil. Thanks, ya'll!

Oh and I love salmon.

Don't use the tylenol as a face mask every day, use it only 3 - 4 times a week, and use a good oil free moisturisor afterwards....

If I were you, I would drink nothing but water, and a minimum of two litres per day. I would even stop drinking milk! Drink soy milk instead.

Remember with the flax seed oil (and the coconut oil) that you will not see improvements overnight. I have been using the oil every day for about 2 years, and things are only just starting to look good - so its a long road, but if you stick on it, you will notice the difference.

Good Luck

My boyfriend makes me take oil supplements three times a day- we take the one that has borage, flaxseed, AND fish oil all in the same pill.

He also makes me take my vitamins. I just can't take anything with too much niacin because it makes me CRAZY. I mean, crazy. He didn't believe me so he made me take a niacin supplement a few months ago and I was up all night bouncing up and down on the bed and rubbing my knees and babbling. Don't know why I felt compelled to share.

Probably to help those of us who have been looking for a vitamin that makes us stay up all night bouncing and rubbing and babbling. It's like natural meth.
How weird, I've never heard of that. Makes me want to see if that would happen to me.

Thanks for the tips! I have stopped drinking milk as it gives me stomach problems. I tried soy milk and don't like it at all. My grandmother gave me some chocolate soy milk one time and I liked that. Perhaps I need to get her brand or something.

I gotta stop drinking cokes and drink even more water.

Soy milk is vile - when its unflavoured. I drink either chocolate or vanilla, its much more pallitable that way
