Chris should play Get like you used to be!

I can't tell how amazing it would be to hear Get like you used to Be!

Can you imagine this in the middle of the concert when the band does a string of acoustic songs like they have in the past with the song "Without You" or Linds and Stevie's rendition of SYLM. And GLYUTB is the very first song she played on stage after coming from 15 years of retirement. It would just be fitting.

What do you think?

If we were talking about the setlist before The Dance, I'd say no way. But the fact that she did it Get Like You Used to Be in Maui means that anything can happen, now. She did it there for a blues band, but if they all liked the way it sounded, she could easily do it again. Michele

I have a feeling she will no longer be rusty either.

We heard the rusty versions of Don't Stop etc..

She even sounded better on the 27th than the 25th of Sept. I think she's got nothing to lose about going for it. I think we'll see a lot more spark than we saw at the Dance.

It's about selling out all dates. "Obscure" tunes don't help that cause.

This will NEVER happen but I would LOVE to see the Mac OPEN THE SHOW with "Get Like You Used To Be" and then transition into "The Chain". Like Homer McVie said, they now embrace "The Machine", so I'm afraid we won't hear ANY Pre-1975 tunes. What a shame! Having Christine RETURN to the party by opening with "Get Like You Used To Be" would be a glorious statement!!!

I'd like it if The Chain was the last song in the set. It's been the second song in their set forever. So predictable, followed by Dreams. Been there, done that. Not really an inspired reinvention of the same old same old. Isn't it enough that the set has been glutted with the same songs for two decades. The least they could do is reorder them to give the illusion of freshness.

I always advocated for this song, especially poignant since Christine is getting back to what she used to be. In the early days,when they opened with this song, it was purely a Christine song, with just her vocals and the band. Stevie came on stage only after the song. Kind of strange. Today, if they opened a show with this song, at least Stevie would be there, banging her tambourine and adding some background vocals.

Whatever they do, I just hope they get a little creative and change it up and not open with The Chain and follow with Dreams, or have The Chain be the second song. It's so old and stale. Same songs in the same place for ****ing twenty years! They can appear elsewhere in the set. The show will appear fresh and fantastic in spite of being the same old songs. They have nothing to prove anymore.

I wholeheartedly agtree. They will be the same songs regardless of where they place them in the set. And if the fear is that the majority of the crowd won't know particular songs, they would know them a lot better than Not that Funny and they played that one on the last tour. (Not complaining, I still enjoyed it immensely =)

Amen to that!! PenguinHead always gets it right. I've been buying tickets to Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks LIVE shows for the last 37 years, and changing up the show to make it new, innovative, and fresh is NOT something these people excel at. It's almost like they're afraid to mess with "their brand", but at least Lindsey tries to take some chances. Come on MAC, through us a bone for the "On With The Show" Tour. Work up some NEW ARRANGEMENTS to familiar old tunes. How about an UNPLUGGED version of "Tusk" with all band members front and center (Chris rocking out the accordion, Stevie beating on a cowbell while the band sing the tune in harmony in a hushed vibrato)?? Continue the harmony unplugged set with "Honey Hi" and "Landslide" (with some piano). Open the show with a rocking version of "Get Like You Used To Be", with Stevie and Lindsey on harmony. Play "Hold Me" for the first time in 32 years and give it a new arrangement. The possibilities are endless. The true fans have been waiting SO LONG for something a little more exciting in the set list, but, quite frankly, attending Fleetwood Mac shows is starting to feel like a routine. Where's the spontaneity?

I LOVE to see Bruce Springsteen play live because YOU NEVER KNOW what he is going to pull out for the set list? It's often a DIFFERENT set list every night with arrangements that you'd never imagine.

Bruce and his band are the kind of band that can play anything they want, and his audience goes with them. No one complains that this or that song wasn't performed. There is no mentality of "I paid a lot of money and I expect to hear expect to hear all the hits!"

To be fair, Fleetwood Mac can't be as nimble as someone like Bruce because they don't have one front man -- they have three! So the dynamics of a set list become more of a balancing act.

As the music industry became increasingly more corporatized, with higher touring costs and ticket prices, artistic expression was sacrificed in the name of commercialism. Bands lucky enough to have a string of hits and well known songs bowed to the pressure to restrict their sets to those songs --the ones the market demanded.

Any set list that strayed too far from the familiar was deemed too radical, alienating the general public --an offensive disappointment to audience members who are subjected to songs they don't recognize!

Fleetwood Mac aren't too adventurous, but at least they have surprised us with a few unexpected songs here and there. What's surprising is the "me' factor" of demanding expectation: "They have to play this song." "They have to open with The Chain." They have to close with "Songbird." "If they don't play this song I'm going to be so disappointed." It sucks they didn't do this."

Of course, just like everyone else, I'll have opinions and find something to bitch about that doesn't fit my ideal. But ultimately, I'm grateful Fleetwood Mac is still alive and doing whatever it is that they do.

Their problem is they don't listen to the fans or voices outside of their team. Even the Rolling Stones take fan requests. Just curious, how can Bruce command an audience like that and get away with playing anything, even non hits that they don't recognize? I know Dave Matthews does it too. Bob Dylan as well...doing shows without Like a Rolling Stone or The Times They Are a' Changin. I guess the audience is just happy to be there...and they know going in that Bruce will do what Bruce wants to do. Just respect, plus artists who don't want to be bored sick of playing the same songs night after night. FM must've been really shaken by that show Mick always references from 1976-77.
