Default Oakland Coliseum — 10.20.1982

Forty years ago today, Mac played the Oakland Coliseum.

Longtime Bay Area Deadhead Jeff Samuels recorded the show in its entirety with his digital gizmo, which you can hear on YT. But we also have thirteen songs from the soundboard (a cassette recording not of the front-of-hall mics but the direct lines into the mixer).

Brown Eyes
Eyes of the World

Wow, that Chain!! Some nice dynamics in the transitions!!

Also, I love how he says, "We're masochists!"

Another beautiful Sara. Stevie hits the extreme high note again. Its depressing we have no video of any of Sara, Hold Me or Landslide from Mirage tour.

100%

It would also be pretty cool if Lindsey did the Tango tour and we have live 1987 videos of Sara and Hold Me. I’d love to see those live with the extra late 80s production.

Fleetwood Mac at their best. I’m sooooooo glad I saw them live in 1982 for the MIRAGE tour.

Default Fall 1982 Was a Magical Time For Me

I moved to San Francisco in June to escape the shreds of an intense love affair in Seattle. My friend Jeanne and I would go to Toal's Irish pub in the Civil
Center after work every night. I'd play "Hold Me' every night on the juke box.
I can still visualise everything when I hear the quiet part of the song.
A co worker went to the Oakland show and she said all the young girls were crying STEVIE STEVIE to the point that it got annoying.

The date on the ticket says October 3, 1982. Stevie was sick towards the end of the tour. Was this show rescheduled for October 20?

Men at Work started the tour, right? They were one of the hottest acts in 1982. Imagine seeing Men At Work or Glen Frey with Fleetwood Mac for $15.00. You cant even get a pizza for $15.00 today.
