Default "Might be Peter Green..."

Since nothing new is happening here and the old stories have been told a hundred times, it reminded me to start a new thread called "Might Be Peter Green...". Some young guitarists sound like Peter Green. I just listened to the next song and thought this might be Peter Green:

I can hear the similarity. It's in the treatment. It has a lot of country in it, too, old country. Besides Green, it reminds me of Albert Lee.

. . . oooohh, thank you so much for pointing out this one, leo! knowing pretty well, that mr. knopfler has always been a guitarist with an extremely tasty style of his own, i'd have never expected such a wonderful tribute to peter from him - GREAT recording!

on the subject of this here thread: there is an earlier thread somewhere on this forum (can't recall if "peter green" or "the early years"), where it came down to the same matter - other guitarists in greeny mode. i remember mentioning 2 axemen myself:
first of all must be SNOWY WHITE, who should need no further introduction at all to fans of peter's.
another one is GREGOR HILDEN. he's from germany and he's got some 15 or so records under his own belt. also citing jeff beck and larry carlton as influential to his playing, greg's never shy to show a very strong peter green influence again and again. i recommend highly to check him out on youtube. here's one to whet your appetite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoC3cMZBit0

Billy F. Gibbons:

“This was inspired by Peter Green's opening figure in [Fleetwood Mac's] "Oh Well." I was living in Los Angeles, sitting on the steps of this apartment. It was raining and I couldn't go anywhere, so I was trying to learn this figure. It got all tangled up. And it stayed tangled.”

Daniel Castro: “Blues is easy to play but hard to feel.”

"Castro has been a staple in San Francisco’s blues scene since he moved up permanently from Orange County in 1995. A professional player since he was 14 years old, Castro lived in Los Angeles for many years. While blues is his No. 1 love, he mostly had to play in rock bands to get work.

He said the rock bands he played with emulated English rockers such as Led Zeppelin, Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton. The Brit that Castro most admired was Fleetwood Mac founder Peter Green."

Peter Green is gone but his music is alive. You can come across it in the most surprising places. Cafe in the Canary Islands:

Tom Petty was inspired by Peter Green's "Slabo Day":
