Heartbreaking, but this one was a bit more expected. I recall Celine describing his illness last year. Either way, So sad. What a terrible week

Thats so sad.I remember my late sister talking to me about him years ago what he was going though.

The Big C has takin so many including 3 loved ones in my family and there's still no cure for it.

I dont want to post offending website links on here but this Google search sums it up and has the answers why .

This is sad, because they seemed one of those rare truly happy showbiz couples.

They first met when Celine was 12 years old. There was 26 years age difference. He was her manager of course and they ended up becoming romantically involved in the late 80s. After early difficulties with conceiving, they ended up having three children together after many courses of IVF. Many regarded him as a Svengali type figure but I think there was more to their relationship than that.

Thoughts and prayers with everyone.

^^^^ I agree. They seemed to truly love one another, and stayed together despite the odds. My heart goes out to Celine. She lost her brother to cancer two days after Rene's passing.
